you need to stop being so racially obsessed and to do your homework

on the one hand you acknowledge that AA principally benefits white women and the white middle/upper class but then you deny that there is any other form of discrimination - these are just utterly senseless ravings - utterly

    Nothing you said was accurate.

YOU were the one who brought up that "AA principally benefits white women and the white middle/upper class," not me. Also I never denied there was any sort of discrimination. If I did, please link or quote the post. Otherwise it sounds like you've just made that up.

    So.. getting back on topic:

Are you advocating eliminating all affirmative action?

Eliminating only white women from affirmative action?

Keeping it the way it is, with white woman benefiting and adding to the wealth and well being of white families at the expense of all other minorities?

I have already answered that question.

I'm still waiting for YOUR answer: do you want to see an end to ALL discrimination?

The government is the most racially obsessed.
The government has institutionalized racism, genderism, sexual preference-ism.
Our government should be forbidden from making such census.

The "ism-s" are not going to disappear or lessen as long as the government is the main purveyor.

    It is that simple.
    Questions?

yes, I was one of the two votes. Expand it to include poor people of all persuasion. College is the gateway to life as a knowledgeable and competent adult. There are outliers that never go to college and excel but the majority of us need the exposure to new ideas....lets get everyone that can and wants to go to college in there.

A minority might include them, expand it to include any group that has been discriminated against. But then, when you get down to defining minority, you must include white men too since they are not the majority either are they? We all know what a minority is despite the histrionics of the white majority regarding letting others get a leg up.

The program of affirmative action should be eliminated at all levels, and replaced with the concept that only those who are qualified for a position are allowed to actually hold it. Gender and nationality is of no importance, only being qualified is of any importance.

That is inaccurate. You never answered those questions. So again:

Are you advocating eliminating all affirmative action?

Eliminating only white women from affirmative action?

Keeping it the way it is, with white woman benefiting and adding to the wealth and well being of white families at the expense of all other minorities?

As for your off topic question, I'll be glad to answer it once you answer the ones I posed, since I asked first.

So I don't have any idea what you mean. Are you saying that EVERYONE should get AA because everyone is some sort of minority?

    Thank you for the confession.
I have not voted yet but, plan to vote against continuing AA

Yes. I can agree with aiming at economically disadvantaged with special programs to prepare them for competition for an admission to college or a job with no AA consideration. If they place, they place by merit for jobs or college admissions. Invest at increasing the merits of economically disadvantaged.
Yes, I can agree with that.

No I am rejecting the strawman argument that because black people get affirmative action then white women should too because they are a minority. I was a bit obtuse in my previous reply.

It should absolutely be ended. It served a purpose when implemented, and even for some years after that. But its run its course and now it's become a detriment.

I say that the only real Affirmative Action is what you can and do enact for yourself, as a person. I was never hired because of Affirmative Action and I never believed in Affirmative Action. AA has open up a governmental agenda that attempts to pigeon-hole everyone, based on artificial parameters. Believe it or not, Affirmative Action is behind the reasons for illegal-immigration. Those from Central American, Southern North America, etc., are brought here under the guise of them "doing jobs that Americans will not do" which is hokum. If a person needs employment and is able to perform the required work, I am sure that they would take the job. I know that one of my first jobs away from home was McDonald's, now where I live, McDonald's and other fast food eateries, are occupied by Spanish speaking immigrants. This entire farce, is leading this country into a Totalitarian society, meshed with an Oligarchy (Multi-National Corporate Control). I know that this appears to be off-topic, ask the following, β€œis it really off-topic?”

Intelligent reply that is "right on the money". As I have said in other OPs, Affirmative Action is now called, Social Justice which used to be called, CRONYISM and NEPOTISM.

Affirmative Action was NEVER about equal opportunity, it was and is about driving an Ultra-Liberal aka Progressive agenda. If you think that Progressivism is something good it is not. I will now remind you that former President Woodrow Wilson was a Progressive and he hated Black people to his very core. This (. . .) used to refer to Black people as Bur-head Coons and ******s all of the time. So much for AA and Progressive politics.

Frankly, I haven't really observed Jeff Sessions "going after" much of anything.... He could have already filled several floors of federal prisons with Democrat "low-hanging fruit" after getting EASY convictions against them for crimes that were as obvious as turds in a punch bowl. But, well, I guess that old Jeff just "ain't got around to it yet"....

It was about undoing US apartheid rule that impoverished Afro Americans.
A person like Trump was well in his 20's when it ended. Easy to say he personally benefited from it and those personal gains is being passed down to the current generation. But here people are thinking it was like ancient times...

You really do talk in circles.

Earlier comments were correct, you want to institutionalize discrimination and call it "affirmative action".

Your posts are actually the best explanation of why affirmative action is bad social and political and economic policy.

You're talking about "apartheid rule"? In the United States? Uh, wrong country... you're thinking of the Union of South Africa, perhaps? There never has been "apartheid rule" in the United States....

As far as mistreating Blacks in this country is concerned? Yes, indeed we did! But after World War II ended in 1945, the U. S. became increasingly integrated, and everything changed for the better! The Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 made it all official, and from that time we have been a society based on racial equality!

That was 52 years ago! And yet, to this day, we have Reverse-Discrimination is full-force against White People in this country (also known as "affirmative action"). All discrimination, against, and for ANYONE should be completely and totally illegal in the United States. And yet, liberals are more than happy to see this rotten, un-American disgrace continue, year after year after year....

Suggestion: if Blacks are "impoverished" today, whose fault is THAT? Interesting statistic -- Blacks make up 13.4% of the U. S. population, but they collect over 34% of all the government handout welfare!

UT Young Conservatives' 'affirmative action bake sale' draws hundreds of angry students

On Wednesday, the Young Conservatives of Texas club at the University of Texas at Austin held an "affirmative action bake sale" offering cookies at different prices based on the race and sex of the buyer.

A cookie cost $1.50 for Asian males, $1 for white males and 50 cents for African-American and Hispanic males. Cookies for American Indians of both genders were free of charge

    *Snip*

The bake sale, which club members characterized as a protest against the "institutionalized racism" of affirmative action programs at colleges and universities, soon attracted a crowd of hundreds who lobbed criticism at the conservative students.

"Check your privilege!" they yelled as the club's remaining members volleyed questions from the crowd. The crowd began to disperse just after 2 p.m. when the remaining members of the group left to chants of "racists go home
