Many laws and regs are trivial, but those are the laws and regs that most of society follows. Those against those, are welcome to vote for the independent candidate called, "Laws and regs you're happy with".

You need to watch the video because of two things, it's short and informative. I've found that those Americans who refuse to learn the UK gun laws/regs, continue to make silly posts.

Don't worry, Americans all dribble off onto wars, especially WWI and WWII. Just keep in mind America has never won a war in it's history, even independence was down to the French.

I don't accuse, I'm just observant, I observe that you're mistaken and confused.

But I asked, you stand on a beach, what are your Rights and now what? Do you know what that analogy does? It destroys your argument. Your Rights are based on what your government allows. Any part of the American constitution can be changed, amended. The word amended is important because your constitution has amendments. Amendments are not one offs, they too can be amended. And before anyone mouth froths on how constitutions are amended, I know the US system.

As for you last part, I take it American schools hold irony classes.

If you had enough senators and states with enough balls, they would amend the 2nd Amendment to start on the road to a safe gun culture. But both the senate and nut jobs with guns don't want that.

In the grand scheme of things, you either make a shelter, eat, and survive, or you die. Idiots who think that food, guns and etc.. are Rights, are gullible. I mean, which idiot on this planet thinks there's Rights? It's akin to Socialists thinking Utopia exists.

And I answered you: My rights haven't changed. My rights only change when nice men with guns take them by force of arms upon pain of death or imprisonment, and in this case that would be unconstitutional and therefore the legal legitimacy of such authority is non-existent and they are simple brigands.

So amend the constitution then. If its so simple, simply do so and cease your blathering about the concept.
You know the system: So explain for the class how the math works out. How many states need to approve such an amendment? Further, since you know soooooooooo terribly much about the US system, tell us: how many states have permitless or constitutional carry of firearms?

Classes in irony? Probably not as a single subject course as I do not believe we have degrees in stand up comedy. We learn the concept of irony, certainly. Why, do you think its ironic that you continue to blithely pretend your analogy about a desert island applies? That's not irony friend.

The right to keep and bear arms is not a right to be given arms. Even your attempt to salvage your argument is replete with error and fallacious logic.

Yes, Americans go down the route of, "Come take my guns", it's the same ole rhetoric crap that they come out with (probably some vanity, macho thing), and yes, there are two ways the Constitution can be changed. Check Google.

Have I offended you in some way by pointing out the practicalities involved? The basic math?

But you professed to be an expert! You won't illustrate the math? Its too painful for you? That's alright, I'll shoulder the burden for you my friend.
3/4s of the states have to ratify. That's 38 of 50. Put another way, if you have more than 12 states that support the 2a as written, you can't get a constitutional amendment.
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming
^ All have some version of permitless carry. Shall I summon The Count from Sesame Street? 1 ah ah ah 2 ah ah ah... etc.

In point of fact as I fact check my post pre posting, I notice that this list is actually incomplete!

2/3rds can call a convention. But can you count how many that would be? 33 states. Count how many are in the first list and tell me you can even get that.

Ok, thanks for all that. Here's a quick link.

There are two paths: one through Congress, and one through the states -

    https://www.rd.com/article/how-to-amend-the-constitution/

If you want to do any maths (math) go full steam ahead.

All I know is, there are two ways the US can amend it's Constitution and it's not easy. Also, if Senators were interested in lives, they would have amended the 2nd Amendment decades ago. I know, you will baulk at such a suggestion. Then you will go on about the UK's constitution, or the lack of it. So I will say, "Please look up non codified constitution", and that will puzzle you. And it's likely you will go quiet on that because you've learnt something again.

Why check google when Article V is all you need:

    Article. V.
The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.

Both require 3/4 of the states to ratify. Find a recent red/blue map of the states. Start counting red states. Stop when you get to 13.

So you don't read then. I did the math for each method already.

There are more states that have permitless carry than will allow a constitutional amendment, by either method. The states have to ratify either way, and they simply won't.

Senators cannot take unilateral action to amend the constitution. That's not how Article V works, you claim to be an art V expert so you must know that.
I've said nothing about the UK, because I don't give a **** about the UK. You're entitled to your own domestic laws, its none of my business as a non citizen. As my nation's laws are none of yours.
That's not to say I'm not aware of your laws, both my mentor and my mentee took a law abroad course in London, and I've studied the common law as part of my legal training along with comparing various common law traditions modern systems.
Since you bring it up though: The UK has a non codified constitution and you lot essentially don't have a right to defend yourselves amongst many other things that wouldn't fly if you had enumerated your rights and refused to allow those laws to be altered to take them away from you.

Hard pass amigo, to say nothing of the fact that the math would be even worse because to non-codify it you'd need to repeal it essentially and you can't even repeal the 2a much less the entire constitution.

Why are you so agitated over honest people owning stuff that your nanny state government doesn't trust you to own?

You reference a Reader's Digest article. Pointless when Article V is readily available.

Article V was covered in the link, yet you feel you needed to point out Article V.

Since your knowledge of history is as dismal as your powers of observation so I wouldn't expect you to know that after the Germans chased you across France and out of Europe you went begging America for our guns:

"World War II: Emergency American Arms to Britain (June 1940)"
    https://www.histclo.com/essay/war/ww2/cou/us/aod/arms/aod-ea.html
EXCERPTS "If the Germans had been able to invade at the time, they would have encountered a largely disarmed Britain.

Britain turned to the United States for emergency arms deliveries. President Roosevelt responded immediately and ordered U.S. military arsenals to send all available war materiel to Britain." CONTINUED

So, you'd better brush up on your Russian because next time, we might no be so generous with our scary guns that terrify your timid souls.

    Look mate.
The UK is home to twns of thousands of knives carried every day, sometimes to school. Certainly by children in the streets.
You can't control the sale of knives or lock kitchen drawers.
Thank god the country doesn't have your problem. It is short of burial space.

The number of defensive gun uses doesn't have to be in the millions to be valid.

"Adolescents are far more likely to be threatened with a gun than to use one in self-defense"? No ****.

I think you have this about backwards. A government who worry about gun ownership seems to be the entity that is paranoid. One wonders why having an armed population is such a worry for an authoritarian minded government.

In this case, doesn't it seem likely that the person shot was simply executing suicide by cop?

You mean it boils down to them declining your advice.

That doesn't make them traditionally unreasonable, unless you pre suppose yourself to be proven reasonable. Which is hilarious as a concept.

I'm afraid that MSM promotes the idea that the streets are running with blood in the US but if you don't do dumb stuff you're just as likely to come home with no trouble in the US as the UK.

    Thanks,
