"The Associated Press is calling out two leading Democratic presidential candidates for what the outlet says were inaccurate comments about the government's ability to address diseases like the coronavirus.

Former Vice President Joe Biden and former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg were "both wrong" to say critical health agencies faced funding cuts. While discussing the coronavirus during Tuesday's debate, those candidates blamed President Trump for restricting resources for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Institutes of Health (NIH)."

    https://www.foxnews.com/media/ap-fact-check-biden-bloomberg-coronavirus

So there we have it. Funding to the CDC and NIH has not been cut, and any cuts to the CDC grant program for state and local preparedness were "set in motion by a congressional budget measure that predates Trump."

Meanwhile, as Pelosi and Schumer face blowback for how they've politicized this whole thing, they're trying to turn the tables by issuing a statement that "this is not the time for name-calling or playing politics." Oh, the irony, coming from the duo who have been hellbent on politicizing this

Can we all agree to stop throwing around false accusations about Trump cutting funding related to the coronavirus panic?

Lies wrapped in memes & slogans is all they have. If you take that away they'll have to deal with truth.

This post is LIES, every year since Trump took office he has tried to cut the CDC budget but CONGRESS with bipartisan support has minimized the cuts, but we are still spending 10% than what was spent in 2016.He also disbanded the group of experts we had for dealing with pandemics.

    The actual budget authority higher
    https://www.cdc.gov/budget/index.html

    Trump 2019 Budget Proposal

"Enhances Emergency Preparedness and Health Security. The Budget proposes to transfer the Strategic National Stockpile to the HHS’ Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This move consolidates strategic deci-sion-making around the development and procurement of medical countermeasures, and streamlines leadership to enable nimble responses to public health emergencies. The Budget also prioritizes funding for the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, BioShield, and pandemic influenza, to continue to build on investments to protect the civilian population in the event of public health emergencies related to infectious disease outbreaks, and other man-made crises. A disease threat anywhere is a disease threat everywhere, so the United States will continue to support capac-ity building in other countries so that they can stop outbreaks at their source before they reach the U.S. homeland. Through CDC, the Budget proposes new investments via the Global Health Security Agenda to strengthen countries’ abilities to respond to infectious disease outbreaks whether natu-rally occurring, accidental, or deliberate."

"Helps Prevent Public Health Emergencies through the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) and Advances Maternal and Child Health. Containing the spread of deadly diseases overseas is a vital U.S. national security interest. To prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats abroad, the Budget request supports an array of global health security activities through the GHSA. The Budget also requests nearly $2 billion for lifesaving health interventions through USAID, including the President’s Malaria Initiative, programs that address tuberculosis, polio eradication, and Neglected Tropical Diseases, and the U.S. contribution to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. With the Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance policy now in place, the Budget request includes U.S. in-vestments in family planning and reproductive health, with an emphasis on evidence-based methods, including fertility awareness. These services would save thousands of lives and support women’s empowerment"

"Reinforces Emergency Preparedness and Response Capabilities. The 2017 hurricane sea-son reminded the Administration of how important it is for all levels of government to be ready to as-sist residents in the face of natural disasters. EPA plays a critical role in this capacity, providing tech-nical assistance to drinking water and waste water utilities, responding to the release of hazardous substances, and advising on disease vector control and waste disposal. The Budget further supports EPA’s efforts by providing $6 million to the Critical Infrastructure Protection program and $45 mil-lion for key emergency response equipment and training under the Homeland Security Preparedness Response & Recovery program. Protecting the safety and security of the American people is a Federal priority that ensures a prosperous Nation."

Also, Bolton dissolved the group at the WH as they were a duplication of the CDC leadership, and to save $.

The BIG QUESTION is why are we supplying foreign countries including China that have Utopian wonderful socialized health care with pandemic expertise thru the CDC budget? Shouldn't they be helping us instead? icon_dunno.gif

Especially since these disease outbreaks never seem to originate here (SARS, Ebola, MERS, COVID-19/Coronavirus, here's looking at you and where you came from....)

The budget, as PROPOSED by the president, is not necessarily the same budget as appropriated and passed into law by the congress.

Yep....what's your point? What the President proposed isn't the law. The Dems lied and said it was cut....it wasn't.

    You've been fooled.

Was watching headlines from CNN over lunch and can they be any less vile and biased? They’re trying to blame Trump that he’s down playing it, then claiming he could have done more then complain he was abusing people’s rights by shutting down travel. WTF?!?!?

Instead a great president should follow CNNs lead and create mass panic and hysteria then blame the president for creating mass panic and hysteria. Screw those people. Can they sink any lower?

You were talking about his proposed and I gave you his proposals and the actual spending. You gave nothing. Refute it.

And if he created a panic they would then criticize that.

No, they probably can't sink any lower, but I've said that before and was wrong. This just puts into perspective what we've been saying since 2016. Trump could personally fund the group that finds the cure for cancer and he'd still be vilified by the left. Didn't act fast enough, or they would talk about all the people who died of cancer while he was sitting on his ass while the cure was still being found. They'll stop at nothing and stoop to the bottom of an endless pit to hurt Trump's character.

Absolutely. He acted too soon, he acted too late. He caused widespread panic, he didn't panic enough. He didn't take enough precautions, he took too many precautions. His budget for COVID-19 is too much, his budget is not enough. I'm still waiting for someone to scream about travel restrictions being racist, but I guess Asians aren't really in the special racism victim club (?)

At least hopefully we can put the "we're all going to DIE!!!!!! Trump gutted the CDC!!!!!!!!" lie to bed now.

From this point on anyone continuing to lie about this can't claim to be mistaken ---- they're flat out lying.

That's the key here ---- facts.

This isn't some far-right news source calling out Democrats for lying, it's the left-of-center Associated Press calling out Democrats for lying.

The left has a .107 batting average this year.

They might just not make the major league team in Nov unless they step it up.

The democrats are rooting for the coronavirus & they wouldn’t care if we lost thousands of lives as long as it hurt trump politically.

Schumer is crying how Trump is not prepared. These are the same people who want open borders & schools filled with children who have not been immunized.

Not one person has yet to die from the Coronavirus in America & no nation is more prepared.

The answer to that is going to have to be 'NO', since all that most of these political leftists KNOW is what MSNBC or CNN tell them. So regardless of facts they are going to pull a Biden and stick with the 'truth' instead, and the TRUTH is whatever leftist propaganda outlets tell them. Facts? They don't need no stinkin' facts. They have got TRUTH on their side.

    "no nation more prepared"?:roflol:

Is that why Trump"s "Health Workers" violated Protective Clothing Protocol and are helping to SPREAD the Virus?

federal employees were sent to work at coronavirus quarantine locations in California without adequate safety protocols and then flew back home on commercial airplanes,
