Two huge spikes in human population growth involved the discovery of agriculture (which led to permanent settlements, towns and cities) and later industry (a move away from cottage industries and a move away from subsistence agriculture). Pre-colonial Australia had neither. When explorers started to explore the continent they found no permanent aboriginal settlements nor permanent structures. Aborigines were still a pre- Neolithic nomadic hunter/gatherer society at the time of European invasion. They hadn't even found the use of metals yet.

Do a bit of research, it's fun.

Yeah,, there's a 15,000 year old condom factory out near the back of Oodnadatta. Silly question.

    Name: Gidgee Gidgee

    Scientific Classification: Abrus precatorius

Alternative Names: Jequirity, Crab’s Eye, Rosary Pea, John Crow Bead, Precatory bean, Indian Licorice, Akar Saga, or Jumbie Bead

This climbing plant lives on trees, shrubs and hedges and is well known for its legumes. Once the pod has dried, it opens to reveal several bright red seeds. These can be used as beads and in percussion instruments, but they are definitely not for consumption. The seeds are poisonous due to the presence of abrin, one of the most toxic compounds known. Symptoms of poisoning include nausea, vomiting, convulsions, liver failure and death – possibly after several days. A single seed can kill a human – even a pin prick worth can be fatal. Aboriginal women with an unwanted pregnancy would often risk their lives with this bush abortion

In aboriginal Australia, plants such as cymbidium madidum, petalostigma pubescens,Eucalyptus gamophylla were ingested or the body/vagina was smoked with Erythropleum chlorostachyum

Clearly you have never seen a feral cat. One of those cats in the picture is a pure breed lilac point Birman, somebodies pet, definitely not feral. Javisbeason has not responded to my question of explaining the photo.

Well, I don't know what's in your shopping cart, DE, but cross the nullabor and you will see a breed.

There is only 2 weeks between a tame cat and a feral cat. Rangers at Carnarvon once told me of a Siamese that was left behind by it's owners and went feral within a month there were no possums left around the campsite - the cat was not eating the possums - just killing them

Possums are tough too, so fighting them would make you crazy.

Rubbish! It would have to be a very ecceptional cat to kill a possum and even then no cat would be stupid enough to take on a second one. Possums are really tough animals with deep dense fur, they can bite viciously and they have murderous claws. Possums fight each other to the death and male possums will kill any young posums that are not their own offspring. In a fight between a cat and a possum I would back the possum every time.
