Been trying for 61 years but still hold out hope!

 

How many possums have you got living at your place, mate? How many pet possums have you had? How many possums that have been severely injured in fights with other possums have you had to euthanase?

opossums aren't cute enough to warrant animal rights activist's attention.

 

'Opossums' that is correct, I knew that but the vast majority of Australians are ignorant bogans who always refer to them as 'possums' so I have been pandering to their ignorance. They may have thought I was the ignorant one or couldn't spell if I started callimg possums opossums. I once heard an inner city cafe latte refer to an opossum as a squirrel! hows that for ignorance, we don't even have squirrels in Australia!

 

they are cute looking (squirrels).... maybe someone should introduce them into the Australia ecosystem (like the cat)..... that should work out well, huh? lol


The thing I can't stand about animal rights activists is their outrage is relative over the cuteness of the animal in question.


Story after story on The chive, talking about how a "hero saved a kitty by stopping traffic in a busy intersection to get it".... if you point out the Canadian lady who tried to do that for some ducks in a median of a freeway, that resulted in a guy and his daughter on a motorcycle getting killed because of the chain reaction accident she caused... they go nuts, blaming the victim (the motorcyclist) for not paying attention, they go nuts on you.

No, it's not the motorcyclists fault... don't stop in the left lane of a freeway....


but yet, noone ever hears stories about people stopping traffic to save a baby oppossum, do you? funny how that works.... that you are only a hero if you save the cute animals....
