Precogs see crimes before they happen in the future... is sufficient evidence to make an arrest before the crime happens... seems a lot of anti gun types believe it possible

 

You obviously know next to nothing about law and what is considered illegal, buying guns in quantity is not illegal and neither is depositing $ 5,000 cash every month, I could do that or better working steady as a commercial electrician.

In fact some specialized commercial electrical work pays $ 1,000 every two days.

 

First the claim being made by yourself is that what is being proposed is an interview. Now what is being proposed by yourself is an investigation? The two are not even remotely the same. To investigate someone, law enforcement must have grounds to suspect illegal activity is being carried out. There must be probable cause that would support an arrest.

The problem with such is that the united states does not codify into law, exactly how many firearms a person is legally able to purchase in a single year, or what number of purchases automatically crosses over into criminal territory. Since such a standard does not exist, law enforcement in the united states is barred from doing what is being suggested by yourself.

Even if the ATF had the authority to interview Stephen Paddock, what good would such have done? Would they have the authority to arrest him? What could they even have prosecuted him for? Explain, precisely what crime was committed prior to the actual shooting?

Stop cars and you prevent 40k auto accident deaths per year in the US. Stop alcohol and you prevent 88k deaths per year in the US. Stop ropes and you prevent 12k hanging deaths per year in the US.

Stop making them, stop selling them, stop having them as a religion and stop silly comparisons with things not designed to cause death. Meanwhile, totally ban their use and, after a period given to hand them in, make having one carry a very stiff jail sentence.

Those things not designed to cause death still cause an awful lot of deaths. We have no ability in law to stop the manufacture and sale of them, or to totally ban their use. We already have very stiff jail sentences for possession by those forbidden to possess them, but that doesn't seem to deter those criminals from possessing and using them.

I don't live in the nuthouse. Only Americans can convince themselves that what a lot of slave-owners decreed to allow dependant peasants to shoot down any of their slaves who tried to assert their freedom was some sort of meaningful 'right' in an allegedly free society.
