Perhaps it is. But we are not talking about voters....... we are talking ab out die hard followers and the REP party. which is becoming fanatical in its views and attitudes.

There are many that believe that many of the Republicans are a slave to Trump. I wouldn't be surprised if that were to be true.

Most elected officials know their constituents. The question is how much influence the Trump bloc wields in her district.

I think for most Republicans it's a complicated issue. The main body of neither voter bloc identifies with the radical wing positions and we try to split the difference. The lines today are so far apart and so hardened that we get Trump or AOC.

I wouldn't say that at all - but there are very few who will say that out loud. Very few who will stand up to those who are working to oust an otherwise respected republican representative for the high crime of opposing and challenging a FORMER president. McCarthy is doing cartwheels trying to give good reason for why he wants Cheney replaced, but it has become difficult to avoid the truth of it - that Liz had the audacity to defend the democracy and defy Trump.

You speak as if the only Democracy at stake is your version, there are other valid views as strongly held as your own.

I think it is and we will see very soon with the vote coming up ... it's going to be a MAGA moment ...

So you are in agreement that Trump is the radical wing of the GOP? ... AOC is definitely the leader of the radical left in Congress but she's gaining very little traction ... how many bills has she authored/co-authored? ... 20? 25? ... where have they gone? ...

she does have a resonance though with the young, educated progressive crowd (jfc ... I don't view progressive as a bad word as I don't the word conservative) ... she won't make a run for the big prize before 2028 but will push for more senior committees and try and solidify/expand her base ... she will be formidable in the future ...

Trump won't be reelected ... he's just Don Trumpioni with shameless ring kissers ... the groveling for favor in his grace is just embarrassing to watch ... we will soon see the true colors of the GOP ... why are so many afraid to define their own vision but just ride the coattails of a loser? ...

I do not think all republicans in power want to belong to the cult, but enough have joined they it's hard for others not to pretend they are part of it

republicans are entering the McCarthy era of Trumpism, anyone that doesn't support Trump and his lies will be canceled

actually, they say they believe that and vote in polls that way, but in reality most Republicans know it's a big lie....

it's like those that love the WWE, even though they know it's fake - to them, it's entertainment, they don't care about if it's real or not

Trump isn't radical. The left has drifted so far out that he just seems to be. Protect American borders, protect American workers, protect American foreign interests and American industry and then worry about the rest of the globe are issues America has always stood on.

seriously? ... name someone more radical than him ...

the left isn't focused on conspiracy theories ...

sure, build a useless wall and make stupid promises ... why not just enforce 8 CFR?

your MAGA hat was made in China ...

    Israel First!

at the risk of polluted waters we saw in the 60s ...

you sound so sincere ... God Bless ...

We have safeguards in place for our water supply, that's an old ghost

She made good points. One that stands out is how the continuation of the BIG FICTION perpetrated by Trump and his peons is leaving America looking fractured , and vulnerable.

The party is choosing the BIG lie out of fear of Trump.........while diminishing themselves in area of credibility and Truth/ Democracy/ and the constitution.

It is sad that one person can control a party to the degree that is happening. .....and he is not even in power.

She has made a substantive argument. But she is being thrown under the bus tomorrow.

The party will have changed dramatically after that vote....and the only thing holding it together is the personality of Trump.

The Republican Party has an agenda and is fighting for it's political life. She joined the opposition and I expect she will soon switch parties.

It's funny to watch liberals rally around Liz Cheney now. They'll turn on her and do their best to destroy her in the future. Just like they used to do with McCain.

The Republican party is just going through some changes. It's not on the verge of death. Liz Cheney is not going to become a Democrat. The idea that she will, is at best silly.

I don't think so, I think they are that gullible to believe everything trump says.
He could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Ave and still won't lose supporters.

some are, agree there, but many just think of it as a game, they do not care about the truth

not sure what happened to the Republican Party, almost like they want America to fail
