some of this (hydroxychloroquine certainly) came from doctors in backwards areas needing to try whatever they had or could get. most people recover anyway so a miracle drug is reported.

Great question, expect a deflection....if any answer is forthcoming, that is.

Oh come on. Don't mix up being disadvantaged with little access to healthcare, with this issue. Polls everywhere show that the bulk of vaccine hesitancy and denial comes from the Republican side.

It is true that among the African American community given its unfortunate history of being experimented on, there is more hesitancy, but again, it's dwarfed by the Republicans, in numbers.

Just look at the map of vaccinations in the United States and you will see, unequivocally, that red states in general (with exceptions) lag behind red states in vaccination rates. So, how do you explain this FACT??? Don't try to rewrite history to your convenience, and distort what doesn't fit. You're not talking to spring chicken, here.

And no, there was no lie. This is, as usual, taken out of context. The only thing is that when Trump tried to pressure the FDA to approve a vaccine, any vaccine, before the data got in (to score electoral points before the election), Biden and Harris said that it was premature, and ALSO highlighted that they would absolutely take the vaccine themselves if the FDA approved it based on science rather than based on political pressure (and actually, they did, and publicly, unlike Trump and Melania who took it hidden from the public's eyes). That's not lying about the vaccine.

If' I'm misinformed, please quote with verifiable quotes including links to documented statements, what lies the Democrats told about the vaccines. Not some internet dweller's statements, I'm talking about the main Dem candidates themselves while they were running. I'll wait.

Most Republicans who declined the vaccine wont be shy to say as much in a poll.

Not so with hesitant democrats, lest they be shunned by their peers.

Yes, sure. Often they are front liners who have little clue about the scientific process.
"Oh I gave HCQ to 100 of my outpatients [with mild cases] and 99 recovered! Obviously it works!!!"
Of course those 99 would have recovered anyway even if they hadn't taken HCQ.
The only way to see if a drug works is a randomized controlled trial. Doctors who don't understand this should go back to school and re-learn Evidence-Based Medicine (which wasn't necessarily taught in schools when they graduated).
Just being a doctor doesn't mean the person is an authority in Virology and Pharmacology.
I reminds me of the old joke:
Do you know what you call the person who graduates last from the worst medical school? Doctor.

This said, the evidence for ivermectin is different; it *does* come from randomized controlled trials.

I'm extremely against illegal immigration, and have posted extensively about my positions on this which are quite draconian, and one of the reasons I'm against it, is the possibility of communicable diseases (not only Covid-19 but tuberculosis, etc.). From this to suppose that our Covid-19 outbreak which is WORSE than what is going on in the countries these illegals are from, is completely divorced of reality. If anything, these illegals should fear Americans, who carry the virus in bigger numbers. That's why most countries in the world vetoed any Americans from visiting them, during the peak of the pandemic. Until recently when India and Brazil took over as epicenters, we had been the unequivocal number 1 epicenter in the world. So, it's more likely that we'll spread the disease to them, rather than the other way around, duh.

You are taking a valid issue - being against illegal immigration, which I also am - and piggybacking it onto this other issue, a Republican governor undermining any possible containment of the contagion, for his selfish electoral goals.

Again, I'm not partisan on this. I abhor what Cuomo (D) did in nursing homes in New York. I praised Maryland's Hogan (R) for his actions against the pandemic. But DeSantis is a selfish idiot.

Studies show they recover faster with hydroxy and that it is effective early on in decreasing viral load.

    Lol. Off-topic specialty-wise, but here's another:

Where do you hide a $100 bill from a DO? In the prescription pad.

What so many seem to be forgetting....Fl is FILLED with out of state transplants, to the point a Fl native is relatively rare. With any luck, this will prevent even more from flooding in.

All during this plandemic, I saw hoards of out of state tags on OUR roads, bringing their corona with them.

The hell with being advised to not travel...

    Yep.

“This review found four important results. The first is that HCQ appears to be consistently effective for the treatment of COVID-19 when provided early in the course of disease in the outpatient setting, and it is generally more effective the earlier it is provided. The second is that overall, in most studies, HCQ exhibits efficacy against COVID-19. The third is that there are no unbiased studies showing a negative effect of HCQ treatment of COVID-19. The fourth is that HCQ appears to be safe for the treatment of COVID-19 when used responsibly.”

I'm sure Florida would be much better off if the selfish ones from out of state, had heeded the advice to avoid travel.

A significant number of the illegal immigrants pouring into our country are Covid-19 positive. They are shipped all over our country, with many of them going to Florida. One can't ignore the likelihood that the increasing number of cases in the US, especially in Florida, is the result.

I can't accept that lust for power would prompt someone to do such a thing to our country and our people. Madness seems the only possibility.

The problems at the border are a lack of resources, not a lust for power. There's also the fact that Trump needlessly delayed the transition, which to any rational person looks like a mad lust for power. Unprecedented, and as we can see with the border, foolish and dangerous.

That some immigrants got through the cracks is more reason to mask up and get vaccinated. Trying to scapegoat DeSantis's foolish policies on immigrants only highlights the foolishness.
