They die from common colds and died from corona virus last year.
    Stop wetting your pants.
    It's not gonna kill you
This guy is just waiting for something to kill him.
It's not a retirement home, it's a waiting to die home

    That's the reality.

Okay, let me spell it out this way: Right now, China has way more infected/dead than we do. If their propaganda were true(hint: It isn't), it'd be the other way around.

Here in France, most places have to close starting tomorrow, yet there is still an important election.

how many in the usa died from flu like systems in December, were they tested - the point is, we do not know

without testing in december, we can't know what was happening in december

maybe Corona had been spreading for months, maybe the growth we see is only because of testing, we need to know as many of the facts as possible to make future predictions accurately - as Corona is probably here to stay

It's definitely here to stay, just like the flu(and other corona viruses.) We just have to now trust the scientific community to respond and hopefully create a vaccine as soon as possible.

I think that most Americans have learned to ignore Trump's copious, self-serving falsehoods.

It's "under control!" It's a "problem that's going to go away!"
"We have very few people with it" but
"the people are getting better, they're all getting better!"

    https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-coronavirus-control-us-problem/story?id=69198905
"A lot of people think that goes away in April as the heat comes in.
Typically that will go away in April. We're in great shape though!
We have 12 cases, 11 cases, and many of them are in good shape."

    https://www.comicsands.com/doctors-warn-coronavirus-trump-wrong-2645107408.html
Trump claimed on March 6 that anyone who “wants a test can get a test,”
while his Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar said that same day that there
“is no testing kit shortage, nor has there ever been.”
Trump also inaccurately described travel restrictions he had announced,
falsely blamed his predecessor for testing shortages in a typical attempt to shift blame,
and made a number of other misstatements concerning the pandemic,
whether deliberately or out of ignorance.

Fortunately, Americans can look to "the deep state" for apolitical, reliable information. Doctor Anthony Fauci has corrected a number of Trump's false claims, and provided accurate, up-to-date data and coherent, sensible advice in a straightforward and candid manner, with no covert agenda.
Fauci is a knowledgeable, experienced source of accurate, reliable information, a dedicated public servant who does not kowtow to fakes and bullies.

Anyone who would choose Trump over Fauci concerning the coronavirus would probably be dependent on radio entertainer Rush Limbaugh for their understanding of anthropogenic climate change, rather than benefit from the preponderance of real climatologists.

Expertise does not pander to one's ideological fantasy life, but it maintains a firm grip on reality.

The CDC and WHO are also to be trusted, of course.

Testing and developing a vaccine are now the top priorities.

Has Trump spoken out of his ass? Yes, but I believe it was done out of good intentions this time: To make sure we didn't go into a panic. Though obviously a panic was and is justified. But a panic has to be met with a calm response, which is what we're getting now from the CDC/WHO.

And the general information has remained unchanged from the start: Stay inside, wash your hands and be hygiene-sensitive. The problem of course is in a country of 320+ million, millions not following the advice can and has led to the viral spread.

I had a similar thing just after Christmas. Still have a wheezy cough. I wondered if it were a strain of the Covid-19 in Australia.

I propose this post as the most blatantly based on an anecdote.

With special notice for a pic of a sad old guy in bed.

    ??
They've put in huge effort on this, with draconian measures on contact between people.

They built two full hospitals in a little over a week (see WSJ).

Now, they are down to one new confirmed case per day.

Low numbers because Trump has Failed making tests available

Trump is almost a month behind in his response

The multiple instances of Trump providing false information is a matter of record.

Given that record, I again recommend Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the CDC, and the WHO as providing the most knowledgeable, accurate, and spin-free information concerning the pandemic.

Tom Hanks update to he and his wife having test positive
    for Corona Virus.

Tom captioned this new update with: "Hello folks. @ritawilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us. We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no? Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball. Hanx"

there is no crying in baseball.

    Gotta  It.

yes, failure to do testing will give you lower numbers on paper, don't disagree with that - does that make our healthcare system better in your eyes?

if this happened to one of those other countries, I bet the right would be saying the reverse, this proves our system is better, why can't they do the needed testing

One way to avoid over-taxing the ERs is to not make widespread testing available for weeks.

That way, instead of over-taxing ERs, they over-tax funeral homes (and Trump can claim the Virus in under control).

I wonder if that is Trump's Grand Strategy to "restore public confidence"?

Trump showed up for his Covid 19 test today with a protractor, a compass, and two #2 pencils.

He failed the test - it was negative.

There are many corona viruses. Covid 19 is particularly deadly to the elderly and health compromised, and is far more contagious than the typical flu or a cold - other variants on the Corona virus.

Are you just trolling or you do seriously think the world is taking drastic actions all because they don't know better and you do? Is that seriously your position? You know and the world's health experts don't. Is that your argument?

Are you claiming that trump declared a national emergency for nothing?

Tell us about the infectivity of this virus vs the typical corona virus that circulates every year.
    Specifics please.

And no, the flu is not a variant of Corona virus.

Lastly, tell us a little about the "elderly" that died.
    Were they transferred to hospitals?
Did they get all medical therapies available?
Did they have DNR orders, not eligible for ventilators.
Were they trached with PEG tubes, lying in bed waiting for death to relieve them of their misery?
Were the neurologically injured patients, unable to handle their own oral secretions or cough effectively? Did they have underlying chronic pulmonary fibrosis or chronic bronchitis?
Cystic fibrosis? Heart failure? Severe COPD?
Can you tell me how many of this type of patient died from rhinovirus last week?
