Too little info to have an opinion though I have to agree it has the appearance of stupid...and government is one of those organizations where a whiff of stupid is almost always followed by full blown idiocy...
since it seems that you can identify who is that tiny tiny sliver then perhaps you should offer your services
They said the same thing when JFK was elected President. Claiming that he would take orders from the Pope. And every time somebody who is Jewish runs for office, some claim that he or she will be taking orders from Israel.
It's not that hard, and the CIA are already on it. Since 99.999% of Muslims aren't terrorists, clearly it's not Islam itself that's the problem. The problem, it turns out, are political extremists who subscribe to an extremely fundamentalist, warped version of Islam. Not coincidentally, they also tend to come from regions of the world that are culturally conservative, economically backward, and where political freedom is highly limited -- either because of tribal authority or dictatorships. So those are the guys you watch out for. When going after the mafia, you don't automatically target Catholics, even though a huge majority of mobsters are at least nominally Catholic. And you don't worry about Catholics being in charge of pursuing them. Why? Because the connecting thread is not Catholicism; it's organized illegal activity.
What does being a Muslim have to do with being truly loyal to America? Would you be equally worried if he were a Jew? Or a Christian?
Globally there are 1.6 billion Muslims... 1,600,000,000 We should ban them from jobs which in any way affect our National security, including military service? Police? No Muslims Military? No Muslims Border agents? No Muslims FBI? No Muslims CIA? No Muslims NSA? No Muslims et al. It's un-Constitutional...to discriminate solely on the basis of religion... if someone has ties to terrorism or is sympathetic to terrorism to the extent that it negatively affects their job...that's another matter. However just because someone identifies themselves as Muslim should not automatically equate them as a threat to National security.
It is not only un-Constitutional, it is un-American. Our country thrives on diversity, not exclusion. And I look down upon anybody who is bigoted, discriminatory, or hatefull to somebody for their heritage, color, or religion.
As long as this person is screened up the wazoo like anyone else, then I honestly see no problem. Islam itself may or may not be violent, but many of its people certainly are not. I have to admit, though, I can't help it making my blood go cold.
What a stupid thread with a bunch of people who STILL dont know what motivates people to join Al Qeada. STILL?? STILL DONT KNOW?? Yup. Apparently so. "They hate our freedom."
Yes, but a bad analogy as the Catholics and Jews do not have a half a century history of murdering infidels for fun and entertainment
In 1948, Israeli government specialists concluded that: I dont have to explain what happenned in 1948 do I?
Actually, they have a lot more. Look at history. Look at how the Jews behaved back when they had their own nation a few thousand years ago. Remember, the culture of Islam is also that os Judaism. Stoning, executing wives instead of divorce, mutilation for crimes, they both share the same past. During the migration to Europe however, most of the conventional Jewish beliefs have been changed for more modern European beliefs. But they both have the same foundations. And you can't tell me that the Catholic faith (as well as Protestants) have not commited their share of atrocities. Once again it is in their past for the most part, but for example the Holocaust could not have happened if not for the conscent and even agreement of the majority of Christians in the region at the time. You play the atrocity card, and I trump with the Spanish Inquisition. And don't forget, "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition".
I would highly doubt that the majority of christians even had a clue what was going on during the holocost, let alone condoning it.
They knew enough about and participated in Kristallnacht. They did nothing to stop the over 30,000 Jews from being rounded up and placed in concentration camps. They did nothing to stop over 1,000 synegogues from being destroyed. They did nothing in the aftermath to prevent the remaining Jews in Germany from being rounded up and expelled into Poland and other countries. While they may not have willingly participated in the death camps themselves, they certainly did nothing to stop the steps that led to them. Remember, the death camps were only the end chapter of a very long and systematic persecution of Jews that started almost a decade earlier. And nowhere were there massive demonstrations to end them. Most of the time "normal Germans" even joined in and participated in these actions. In fact, a great many Germans sctively applauded the actions taken against the Jews. And many applauded that these actions took place on Martin Luther's birthday. So feel free to continue to wear the blinders. Newsreel footage released to the world showed the majority og Germans doing nothing, or actively taking a part in the persecutions.
So do you blame the rest of the world as well as Germany for the killing of the Jews, as the Israeli leader said on US tv last year. Saying the US was the only country to help the Jews in WW2, the other just left them to die.
Funny thing about the Spanish Inquisition...been over for a few centuries while the happy murdering of infidels is a daily entertainment today from the religion of peace.
I have lived in the Middle East. And never had anybody threaten to kill me there. Don't confuse the fanatics with the common people.
