I think you underestimate the power of the "fairy" tale in terms of passing on cultural and moral values, though the cleansed and commercialized versions one finds today do little more than entertain.

Aside from that, as an unbeliever for as long as I can remember, having atheist parents, the answer to your question is yes. Whether you do so or not is up to you. There are lots of things deserving of exploration, but which are not required topics for survival. Should you ever decide to explore spirituality, enlightenment and the joy of being free, let me recommend starting with the non-theist Tao Te Ching.

Don't think I quite understand what you're trying to say here???

I mean, if the concept of 'evil' is created of man's mind; what does it have to do with God, and in what way does it contradict perfection?

It seems like you get it. Man judges some content of God's creation as evil, and some content as good. But, does God judge any of his creation as good or evil? His creation is perfect because He is perfect. It is our perceived limitations which binds us to assigning good or evil.

This certainly isn't the biblical God we are speaking of; worthy/unworthy, righteous/unrighteous, good/evil..... The biblical God clearly assigns many assessments of worth to also include good and evil, all of which are clearly perceived!

I guess what you said means "yes" on my question, although no Christian would believe in "a" god but in god only. Next question: Do you think that there's only one truth existing or that are many different truthes existing?

The Bible is written by men. There are many different Gods in the Bible. All of them are aspects of men.

If we speak about god then we speak about the creator god who said once something like "Call me 'I am who I will be'" if you need a name for me".

[By the way: the words of your location 'California "über alles"' (California over all) is a little confusing. You are only able to use the german words "über alles" in the sense "USA over all" if you like to use the german meaning of this words. The text in our former national anthem "Germany over all" had nothing to do with the Nazis - it meant just simple first to think about the union of the german states and not only to live in a local patriotism.]

I needed a long row of years to find this trite answer. Everything what is anti life is evil and evil is everything what is anti life. Only for something or someone who doesn't like to live is nothing evil.

    I don't know.

Why do you think you know in a better way what I am than I know about myselve what I am?

Naturally, I (and presumably Questerr, although I do not claim to speak for him) have little right to tell you what you believe, but I am able to identify concepts when proper definitions are in effect.

I cannot tell how well you know what you are, all I know for sure is that anyone who believes in one or more gods is a theist, by virtue of the English language.

However, theist is just a word. It is not a complete explanation of your entire being, nor does it tell us anything about you with respect to any other theist, group of theists or even majority of theists. The only thing it has any connection to is whether you believe in one or more gods.

There are many truths. Again, they are in the eye of the beholder.

Because I understand the definition of words and apparently you don't.

If you believe in a god, many gods, of just "God" as you say, then you BY DEFINITION are a theist.

A theist is someone who follows an ideology with the name theism. I doubt about that a true Christian follows an ideology.

I'm a Christian. But I don't see anything what makes a Christian automatically to a theist - whatever a theist could be. I don't know anything about theists. I'm agnostics. It's my will to believe in god - and this will has reasons. I don't know wether god is existing or not existing. Perhaps one day I will know this forever - but now in the moment I know nothing about.

    Theism is NOT an ideology.

Do I need to post the definition again?

I'm an idiot. I don't believe in definitions.

Hmm - the only definition I found when I thought about what a theist could be was that a theist is perhaps something like an a-atheist. How do you call a buddhist? Theist or atheist?

There are both theist and atheist Buddhists. I, for example, am an Atheist Buddhist.

And there BTW is your problem: rather than using that actual definition of the word, you are trying to "think about what it could be" and invent your own definition.

No - because [¿nearly?] everything what ends with "-ism" is an ideology. Christianity is not an ideology.

False. A theist is someone who believes that there is at least one god. Nothing else. What makes you think you have to follow a certain ideology to be a theist? It's not like all people with Dwarf-growth follow Midgitism, or that all Black people follow Blackism.
Christianity is a subset of Monotheism (as per definition), Monotheism requires belief in a god (by definition) and is thus a subset of theism.

Of course, you could be following the teachings of Jesus without believing in a god. In that case, you're a Jesusist and not a Christian.

If you do not adhering to the definitions inherent in English, then you are officially not speaking English. If that is the case, I must ask you to leave the forum because of Forum rules.
Newsflash: Definitions are not determined by thinking about concepts, they are determined by usage of words and documented in dictionaries.

A Buddhist can be either an atheist or a theist, since it's not by definition a subset of Monotheism (or polytheism for that matter). Whether he is an atheist or a theist depends only upon whether he believes in at least one god.

There is no requirement to call yourself a theist or be actively against atheism to be a theist. Only the belief in a god is relevant to whether you are a theist or not.

    Facepalm.

Christianity is not an ideology, I'll go with that (even though its bull(*)(*)(*)(*)), but Christianity is itself a part of the ideology of theism. PERIOD.

By definition, you are a theist.

How are you able to do natural science in this case? There's for example conflicts between the theory of relativity and the quantum theory. Because of the paradigma "there is only one truth" we have to search for the reasons for this conflict because we "know" something is wrong with our thoughts if there is a conflict between theories.

    Truth =/= Reality.

Truth is inherently subjective. Reality is objective and empirical.
