    Treason should be defined.

My interpretation would be the act of damaging a nation or national interest when that person or organisation committing the treason is a
    member of that nation.

    Those involved are Traitors.

When a traitor acts within the laws of that nation, there is no treason to be
dealt with by the courts of that nation, as there is no law broken, and no
    offence in law.

To my mind, there is another type of treason. It is treason to the people of a
nation by it's administrators and elected representatives, causing the people
of the nation suffering and harm.

You will likely vote for this treason at the next election. I hope you do not.

Is there not one person who will stand against all I see in government this day, or is this already considered certain martyrdom?

Treason is already defined in law.. Why not look it up..

As for politicians... you want guarantees that they will always do exactly the right thing with a predictable perfect outcome.

That sort of guarantee comes with a toaster from WalMart..

I think i know what the OP was getting at...
There is a big call from the average people in Australia to have juLIAR gillard and bob "IM A COMMIE" brown to be charged with treason.
A call that i totally agree with.

Ignore these people Margot, they are not representative of Australians thank God. They are the Australian equivalent of birthers. Im starting to wonder if they arent sock puppets specifically set up for the reason to try and dumb down the argument in this section.

    Hey congo

I agree, the carbon tax which will turn into a world ETS run by the UN, Wall street and those bankers will fleece billions from the Australian tax payer.

If thats not treason i dont know what is.

The politicians have no right to do such a thing .i.e to let some foriegn entity collect Australian tax payers money.

If we have a problem then fix the farken thing here right in our own back yard, there is no need to join some world organisation on the stock exchange that will be farming carbon credits to be sold to those stupid enough to buy into this scheme.

If it was up to me John Cain would be in jail, Jeff Kennet would be in jail, Paul Keating would be in jail, John Howard would be in jail and afew others like Gillard and commie Brown.

They all sold our country out, but then again we are sheep.

You want an example, when France raised its retirement age from 60 to 62 there were riots on the streets of Paris.

When Swan raised the retirement age here in Australia from 65 to 67 noone said boo.

again, your personal unsubstantiated opinion based on a near delusional misunderstanding of basic logical concepts is equivalent to nothing.

You mean... our booming economy? The country with one of the lowest public debt rates in the developed world? The economy that is set to increase by 1.6 million jobs in the next 9 years DESPITE this policy? The policy that the majority of our economists agree with? Any actual evidence that this will 'destroy our economy'? No... I didn't think so. This has got to be the stupidest thread ever. First they wanted to get the GG to kick her out, now they want to create a new ridiculous law and charge her with treason retrospectively. It doesn't get much more moronic than that, well done!

Yep that the one, and it would be in even better shap if swan had never got his grubby fingers into the pie

funny you FAIL to mention how many jobs will be lost...Or how many of those jobs to be created will by "green" bureaucrats..

You alarmists have no real PROOF AGW is anything more than a political ideal. And please show us what has happened to the EU countries that have an ETS...Its a money spinner and thats it..

Well it is now that you are posting your pro goverment dribble in it.

    She fits the bill??????????????
Nothing come close to John Howard, the liar, with the unlawful invasion of Iraq and since constantly lying until this day to the Australian people.
Against him Julia Gillard is a child using childish lies to get the carbon tax on its way. And Bob Brown compares to J. Howard easily as a Nobel Prize winner.
Some 1000 years ago they would have quartered the ex PM using horses.

Again you show you lack of comprehension of the basics, the Australian economy is one of the strongest in the world. Thanks to previous Labor government we have one of the highest rate of savings in the developed world with one of the highest standards of living in the developed world. We also have an eviable literacy rate and the worlds 3rd highest life expectancy. Feel free to migrate somewhere else if you dont like this. Whingers like you get up my nose, you arent practising constructive political criticism but instead indulging in self entitled childish whining.

That was a funny story bud..

Howard and Costello are the reason the economy is where is is bud, and it would be MUCH better if the labor party didnt stuff it up the way they have..How much have they WASTED on things like pink bats, ber rippoffs the NBN and now a carbon tax?
No thanks mate i will stay right here and be a part of the movement that puts juLIAR and COMMIE bob out on their ear...

Despite your self entitled whinging the current excellent state of our economy is due in large part to the far sightedness of Hawke and Keating and has nothing to do with Howard who was a very poor caretaker.
If you dont like this country then you know where the door is, Im told there is a very large queue of people willing to take your place and more than willing to take on the job of being productive Australian citizens and working for this country rather than against it.
