to be fair, education ought not have anything to do with lgbtq+-/. Our schools should leave those topics to the parents and focus on, you know, things like math and science, music and Art.

So we can have books about talking animals, we can teach world religions, and have books with heterosexual characters — but schools should stop at gay characters? Heterosexual teachers should be able to have images of their spouse but not homosexual teachers? Images of rainbows should be banned but not religious symbolism?

Is that correct? Or should all of that be banned?

    yes

teach? no. explore in a historical context? sure, why not?

    yes

    thats right

not sure where this strawman came from but it would probably be good policy to not allow any family images in the class room. I certainly can't recall ever seeing family pictures on display in a class room.

yes, gay symbols should be banned in a gay context. religious symbolism should also not be displayed imo - that is a different topic. but you know that.

That is what was meant. We should teach about world religions — not push one over the other.

Why should heterosexual characters be allowed and homosexual characters be banned?

Because it’s happening in FL. It isn’t a strawman, teachers have been advised this to remain compliant with the ‘don’t say gay bill’. My school had photos of teachers and their families — frequently had events and dinners where those families were present.

So the star of David and all mentions of religious holidays should be barred from school as well then, correct? What about the 10 commandments that we see happening in TX?

No I do NOT agree. Religion should not be taught in school except in historic context. Do I really need to explain? Anyway it is beside the point.

Because the issue of sexuality should not be addressed with young kids. And to be frank, it should not be though of as a normal behavior - it is not. But all of these issues can be resolved when the child is old enough to understand.

I'd call bullsh** but i dont know anything about florida. I'd say it's good policy to not allow any facet of a teachers personal life to be brought into the classroom.

Thats the gist of my opinion fwiw. Is this some online debate gotcha? lol.

So you don’t believe students should be informed about world religions? Ok — I disagree

So a gay character just existing is sexuality but a straight character kissing another straight character isn’t? How does that make sense to you?

Homosexuals is completely natural and normal in a tad over 10% of the human population

Then you want robots — not people

No, it’s just an unusual opinion. Most want their version of indoctrination as we can see in TX

Your idea that gay people = sexual but straight people != sexual doesn’t make a ton of sense.

Groomer Disney was so happy to virtue signal by slandering the Free People of Florida with Disney's "Don't Say Gay" Slander. The entire Left was eager for another thrill-kill in a Red State based on lies, and now all the furious backpedaling? What happened?

Mickey Haley says the entire Disney Groomer Circus is welcome to pack up and move to South Carolina, so what's the hold up?

No, it is not the schools responsibility to delve into the spiritual. Math, science, English, history, music, art - that is what I want my child learning in school. I will take the rest of the topics as I see fit.

It makes sense to you too. If you're honest, anyway.

    oh bullsh*t.
    normal
    1 of 2
    adjective
    nor·mal ˈnȯr-məl

1a: conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern : characterized by that which is considered usual, typical, or routine

10% is not normal by definition! Further, hs can't naturally reproduce - that also is not normal. Further, by virtue of such a small population of hs it has to be harder to find a partner. perhaprs its a reason the gay demographic is more depressed an avg with a higher suicide rate?

    Non-sequitur.

I dont want indoctrination, I want education.

    So what?
I'm left handed, that's about 15% of the population. Should left handed people not be mentioned in a classroom because they are not "normal"?
I have an IQ of 130+, that's about 5% of the population. Should smart people not be mentioned because they are not "normal"?
I was born and raised in New Hampshire, that's less than 1% of the population. Should people from New Hampshire not be mentioned because they are not "normal"?

Hell the fact that I'm a left handed, 130+ IQ New Hampshirian means there are probably less than 1,000 of us in the United States. Should we all be banned from classrooms?

Kids are going to encounter gay people outside of the classroom. By banning any mention of them inside the classroom you are indoctrinating them to the idea that being gay is wrong and something to be ashamed of.

No, I don't think left handed people need to be mentioned in the classroom. Further, if left handed people couldn't reproduce and had major proclivity toward suicide and depression I would encourage my kids to write with their right hand.

So people who are born infertile or sterile shouldn't be mentioned.

Did you ever stop the think the reason gay people are more likely to be depressed or more likely to be suicidal could be because people like you want to deny their existence?

No. What you posted is what's known as a logical fallacy. Smart people tend to not make those. But thanks for playing.

False, they state still supports Matt Gaetz.

DeSantis can say whatever he wants, that's his right. And Disney's thanks to the Supreme Court for better or worse. Nothing here proves DeSantis will win.

"Logical Fallacy" is a broad category.

Care to name which specific logical fallacy I engaged in?

No, what a company has a legal right not to be targeted for their protected 1st Amendment speech.

DeSantis and other members of the Florida legislature screwed up and said the quiet part out loud. What they are doing is targeting Disney for engaging in their constitutionally protected right under the 1st Amendment.

This case is a slam dunk, DeSantis stepped in some deep do do

Yeah but yours is a perfect example of a specific fallacy. C'mon, you're smart figure it out.

Here it is again (in case you have a bad memory too)

"By banning any mention of them inside the classroom you are indoctrinating them to the idea that being gay is wrong and something to be ashamed of."

Yeah. Not so much. A L.A./D.C. attorneys opinion of Florida property law is absolutely worthless compared to a Florida attorney who specifically practiced law in special districts. Lawyers aren't mathematicians and knit picking unimportant things like that does nothing to bolster your argument.

Clearly you haven't listened to his statements, if you're saying, "since the state is dealing w the whole area it is not singling out Disney."

Disney's lawsuit is deficient on a pleathora of levels.

DeSantis isn't the one who dissolved reedy creek. The Florida legislature did that. The Florida legislature didn't do anything to single or Reedy Creek at all. They dissolved all special districts created prior before the 1970s.
Disney isn't supposed to be Reedy Creek. Nothing was done to Disney, at all. If Disney is claiming to be injured by the dissolution of Reedy Creek; then they have been committing fraud with the issuance of the bonds.

This isn't a federal issue. It's a property issue, which is a state issue. Disney is just trying to judge shop and get the Obama appointed judge, as opposed to having it in the property venue that is the Florida state court.

HoAs, which is what Disney tried to turn itself into, can not supercede local governments. The central Florida tourism board can not be bound by the will of Disney.

I could go on, but Legal Mindset has it covered.

By the way, Disney is getting sued in the proper venue, Florida State court, by the new board.

No school only teaches those topics. Also gay people exist in history and human sexuality is a part of biology.

It makes perfect sense, you don’t like group B

So we should ban all characters with red hair then, correct — since we are basing this off population size?

I love how you acknowledge that gay kids have higher rates of depression (if you dig into the reasons it is almost universally agreed that more representation and acceptance decrease this) so you want to ban them being able to mention it.

    It shows the agenda perfectly

You are the one expecting people — only gay people — to never mention their family.

    You want erasure

A single question for you — did the state of Florida through a law that was signed by governor ron due to the speech of Disney?

The SCOTUS has already ruled that laws carefully created to target only specific entities or individuals (such as repealing all special districts prior to a specific date which only impacts one company) is unconstitutional. But who knows with the installed court we have today.

Single answer for you. No. Nothing was actually done to Disney. Reedy Creek was dissolved. If you're claiming that Reedy Creek being dissolved and replaced was an attack on Disney; then Disney has committed securities fraud.
