Nah, voting doesn't prevent government lying. Do better. The fact that the Democrat Party is still in existence after spending $25 trillion fighting poverty, only to still have poor black people, is a prime example. Thanks.

The number of people in poverty changes due to different factors. And, I am sure you'd agree the government can't solve ALL problems.

Democrats have been promising to end poverty for 60 years, particularly to blacks, who are still living in poverty, according to liberals.

    Thanks.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, poverty among African-Americans has been cut from around 40% to less than 20%.

No, bring back Trump who did more for the minorities then any other president--especially with bringing down the unemployment rates to all minorities and including women to record low levels

What specifically did he do? What specific programs were created aimed at minorities, aside from the stimulus packages which went to everyone?

    Good qestion.

There are numerous problems that need to be solved, cost money, and have no possible source of profit - totally disqualifying capitalism as a method of solution.

Examples include our roads, our policing and justice system, national defense, the SEC and other features that we use to control capitalism, education, etc., etc.

And, capitalism doesn't give a damn about those with low income, physical disability, etc.

Capitalism is a method of distributing goods and services that is fully based on who has money, and for which need and all issues of social justice are irrelevant.

That doesn't make it "bad". There are ways in which capitalism is astoundingly great.

But, it there is NO possiblity of having capitalism be the only solution method.

And, to the extent that it IS the primary mechanism that our form of government uses for distributing goods and services to the public, there has to be serious attention to eliminating discrimination from our capitalist enterprises.

By definition, it requires private ownership of land, the greatest evil that has ever existed.
Modern American governments are democratically accountable, so they have to rescue the landless from enslavement by landowners.

Socialism: The means of production, distribution and exchange are owned or controlled through regulation and taxation by the state.

Capitalism: is an economic system where those same building blocks are owned and controlled by individuals.

There is this myth that socialism is needed to protect the masses from capitalist greed. That's a flat out lie.

    Examples of that lie:

Henry Ford didn't build cars for kings, queens, earls and dukes. He built cars for the common man and woman.
Steve Jobs didn't come up with iPhones for government elites. He came up with them for all of us. Consumers control the direction of the economy making it a capitalist economy.

We are a CAPITALIST DEMOCRACY. There is zero socialism here, just as there is none in Canada or Scandinavia. And free healthcare for all is great (and essential, IMO), but it does nothing to prevent the social dissolution occurring all over the First World.

For the umpteenth time .. I'm not American, not a Conservative, and couldn't care less about your GOP. In fact I'm so far to the Left of you that you can't see me without high powered binoculars ... and even then you probably wouldn't understand what you're seeing.

LOL .. no they haven't. If they look anything remotely like Capitalism (whether 'fair' or 'unfair'), they're Capitalist parties - not Socialist parties. You can call it whatever you want, but it will still be Capitalism.

Yes you do give a damn ... else you wouldn't have asked me if I'm Canadian.

Again ... I haven't the first clue what your GOP believes or spruiks. Nothing to do with me.

Unfortunately many on the Left truly believe Govt can make everything better. Good that you admit people are fallible, and therefore Govt can never solve the problems arising from that fallibility - of which there are many.

No one is suggesting we stop trying .. the goal is to stop using methods which don't work (and in fact do more harm).

Of course that won't happen though, because power behind the throne is determined to increase the underclass, not reduce it.

Of course. Why would ANY 'institution' be able to solve the problem of human nature? That's an absurd proposition.

My guess is that strong religious beliefs are more prevalent on the right than the left.

That is a false choice. There is an entire spectrum of choice. And there is no such a thing as pure capitalism or pure socialism. All real economies are a mix.

So you might try starting by presenting actual choices.

How about making a real statement? What power? What throne? Who specifically, and how?

I find the opposite to be true, at this point in the 21stC. The rigidly dogmatic ideology of the Left makes ordinary Christianity seem super liberal.

Those people or institutions driving the fostering of the Underclass, obviously. Imposed helplessness, destruction of the middle classes, erosion of private property for the common man, etc etc. All of it is in pursuit of a vast underclass with no agency.

Those are the actual choices. Before the pandemic hit Trump cut obama's destructive business regulations and lowered taxes across the board where businesses grew and people invested. The economy took off like we've never seen before. Now you have and we all see how biden's tax and spend economy is increasing inflation for every economic sector. People don't want to work since they're getting paid more to sit home and collect welfare or unemployment as its being topped off by some of biden's ridiculous stimulus plans that extend those benefits.
