I believe that there is ONE issue that trumps all those: keeping us a democracy. NONE of the above are of any consequence if we manage to elect somebody who already tried to become a dictator, and might just very well succeed on the second attempt. For these elections, priorities are VERY different than they have been in any election before or in the future. Next time we'll talk about anchor babies. But for now, it's if anybody would even WANT to live here under a dictatorship. We might be looking at actually WANTING to have an anchor baby in a democratic country ourselves some day.

This nation has never been a democracy. It has always been a republic. Democrats are currently trying to turn it into an oligarchy. Democrats said the same thing in 2016 and they didn't do it, and they won't do it in 2024 either.

Normally I would say that voting is our civic duty, and everybody should vote.... no matter who they support. But this time around I think it's better that anybody who believes they can confront the mightiest military force in the history of the world with their toy guns to sit this one out.... just this once.

I’m a boomer so I suppose I qualify as old. Israel government must change (Netanyahu needs to be shown the door). They oppose our position in the region if anyone doubts that refer to their Party’s charter because it explicitly states as much. Biden’s policy has been clear, defend yourself, don’t make the mistakes we did (they are), and we support a two-state solution.(Netanyahu coalition does not). This area has been a tinder box my entire life, I haven’t a clue what the House’s apparent decision to withhold aid will do, but we’ve got to walk a fine line to keep this from escalating into a wider conflict. I get it’s bad for Palestinian’s now but it would be much worse with a Trump administration. No conciliation but it’s the reality.
