It's not even would've been, it is in Asia. It's hard to be a Pacific ocean port in Europe.

How can you visit a place and not be aware of WHERE the place is located? It's not like Google maps are banned in wherever you live.

I'm aware of where it is:hmm:. I don't claim to be an expert, like some here, and we do have Google maps btw.

Well, what your German friend told you is called an opinion, in this case his/her personal opinion, nothing more.
Whether one regards Merkel as bad or good is up to one's political convictions. SPD candidate Schulz's approval ratings are pretty much on par with hers, which means at the moment roughly half of the voters think he is a real alternative and would be a better choice; quite contrary to what your friend said, who's right, who's wrong?.
I for one think electing Trump was the biggest case of collective insanity I've ever witnessed, but that's only me. Others think differently, so who's right and who's wrong?
That sorry state doesn't really exist.
BTW, I know this is extremely hard to believe, especially for our yank friends from across the pond, but Germany hasn't been massacred.
I could write a book about the inaccurate drivel on this forum about the refugee situation in Germany (I live here and for some old-fashioned reason I think that first hand experience counts for something). Interestingly enough this nonsense almost always comes from people who live 6,000-7,000 miles away but seem to know exactly what's going on over here. I don't find that very convincing.

Well of course it's an "opinion". When Islam and Sharia law dominate in a century or so, it will be an "opinion" to say that that's an inconceivably f.cked up outcome for humanity. The extent to which people support the opinion is what counts. Opinion is I think going my way, which is hardly surprising.

How so? The UK is ruled by morons. May even forgot Gibraltar. The EU made clear all agreements must be agreed by spain. The EU block acts as one voice while UK breaks apart recently. The Scots want independence. So wants Northern Ireland. We live in interesting times. Its important that Germany gains most out of it.

Germany already said it supports Scottish independence. Most banks from London move their HQ to Frankfurt already.

I think we can agree a governments responsibility is to make the best for its own people. BREXIT creates disturbance and so far we use that disturbance good. Suck away british investments, counter them and create tension.
