If you look at the actual number of homosexual men infected with AIDS, not the %, you will see that this is impossible. You would have to spread those men all across the country singly in strategic areas, and then you still couldn't infect the numbers of heterosexuals/bisexuals who are actually infected.

Remember....we are a very small population, and most of us do NOT practice unsafe sex.

Um....your FACTS are opinions. Facts need to be varified by an outside source that both people agree is unbiased. care to cite yours??

And your myths?? 1) Is being researched and consensus has been reached by the major medical groups that it is indeed an inborn orientation. Would you like the citiation??
    2) Perversion is in the eye of the beholder
    3) God loves everyone

Wrong again. Worldwide many countries murder gay people... therefore transmission methods aren't reported the same as the USA. AIDS is an even bigger issue worldwide... check the statistics. Stop spreading myths that sentence young gay men to an early death.

    World AIDS statistics

(BTW, hetereo women contract AIDS from men who have sex with other men... on AOL, the term is STR8MM4M. It's killing many women who THINK they're married to hetero men)

Sorry, the facts I quoted are documented by the CDC.

    Transmission Rates 2009

Heterosexual contact* Males: 4,399 Females: 8,461 Total: 12,860

    * Heterosexual contact with a person known to have, or to be at high risk for, HIV infection.

The number of females is growing because the number of 'straight' males having unprotected sex with gay males is growing.

    It's a huge problem.

If you think that AIDS is just a gay problem you have serious issues. It can be passed from a man to a woman when the man has not had m/m sex. A woman can have sex with a man, who had sex with a woman, who had sex with a man, who shared a needle with a woman, who was an IV drug user. LOOK no Male/male sex involved.
It is a human problem, and is transmitted from person to person. You are doing a serious disservice to the hetero community by trying to say it is a gay problem.
EVERYONE needs to practice safe(er) sex, not just gays.

Very naive. It's no wonder AIDS rates are climbing again. If an effort to protect the feelings of gay men, too many people deny the truth. Welcome to that club.

I think that homosexuality comes about in more than one way. There are males and females who are genuinely attracted to their own gender, and then there are heterosexuals who are cut off from the opposite sex for whatever reason and end up focusing their sexuality on their own sex instead.

The latter case is more common, I think.. Especially among the other animals. Male mammals tend to be sex machines :D We find ways of dealing with that rather strong urge.

That has nothing to do with it. Your underlying accusation is that homosexuals are more predisposed to underage sexual attraction than others are. In the post that I originally responded to, you were talking about your gay brother was attracted to underage Hispanic boys, as if being attracted to a teenager was something exclusive, or even mostly exclusive, to being homosexual. That's a silly assumption.

I'm not the one denying the truth. ANYONE can get AIDS. so EVERYONE should practice safe(er) sex.

YOU are the one saying it is a gay problem. I am saying it is a human problem.

The above is an example of a very poor attempt to pass off biased opinions as objective facts. Why does this seem to happen quite a bit when discussing homosexuality. I'll never understand the logic behind "Gays gross me out" equaling "being gay is wrong" and that's likely because there is not a shred of logic involved. It's an entirely personal subjective decision, not attached in any way to objectivity or facts.

You're on here quite a bit 4H, you ought to know the difference between fact and opinion by now.

Indeed it can. Let me know when you're willing to actually include some of it in your posts.

You can be gay, or straight, and never have had sex with anyone.

That doesn't really make sense. Sounds more like a 'phase' than a sexual preference if you've never even had sex.

Did you have to have sex to know you were hetero?

No, I knew I was attracted to females long before I ever had sex.

I knew I was hetero back in grade school when I started developing crushes on girls.

Can you explain your numbers? I'm not sure I understand how they are used.

And none backed up with anything but your say so. Pardon me if I am skeptical. Show me proof from a credible source and we'll talk.

I knew I was attracted to women loooong before I had sex, or wanted to.

I was kind of sheltered that way...I didn't even know humans had sex until the 5th grade. But that didn't stop me from my first kiss in the 2nd grade. Even though, admittedly, it was all her idea.

My brother was raised the same way as me...1 year older...was never molested...and we shared the same bedroom till we both left the nest...but he was different, from a very early age. He was quiet, and hung out with the nerdy girls all the way through high school, and never appeared to be romantically interested in girls after 6th grade or so. I was not at all like him, and we might as well be twins. There is something different about him physiologically, because there was no environmental differences before we went off to school.

What facts could possibly be presented about homosexuality that people don't already know? For that matter, what distortions, myths and lies could be presented that people haven't already heard? It's not an issue that lends itself to rational debate.

That has become very obvious. The truth is rejected every time.
