Well that's the same everywhere. You can fire anyone for any reason as long as you pretend otherwise. Everywhere. But it's the pretending that's the trick.

so you are calling for the end of QE, farm subsidies and any other subsidy or privilege that gets handed out to large corporations, you know, the stuff that the democrat majority house, senate or presidency haven't proposed eliminating after five full years. Perhaps you are in also in favor of repealing Glass-Steagall, something your boys have not proposed either ?

Or maybe you were under the impression that the dems were on the side of the "little" guy ?

it isn't about how hard you sweat everyday, it's about the service you provide.... burger flipping is not a complicated skill. A 18 y.o. fresh out of highschool can do your job, and will do it for min wage.

can an 18 y.o. fresh out of college do what the "billionaires" do in his city? calling anyone BILLIONARES is 99% of the problem.

I mean, as long as we're just not following any economic protocol.... why not pass a law that says everyone makes 450,000 a year, no matter what they do. That's above the poverty line and will fix everything. sheesh....

    LOL...because of Republicans...and the ole "1%" chestnut.

    http://money.cnn.com/2013/09/15/news/economy/income-inequality-obama/

95% of income gains during his time in Office went to the top 1%.

And aside from speeches which seem to captivate those who wish to be captivated...he doesn't really care.

    http://www.msnbc.com/all/the-rich-got-richer-the-99-not-so-much

Tell us more about these evil Republicans, and the "for the people Democrats" who are fighting the good fight for the little guy.

I always protected myself legally when terminating someone. I went as far as calling a lab service to perform a breathalyzer test when an employee showed up drunk one day

The poor out breed the middle class and rich. Instead of finding the motivation to improve their lives it's easier to sit around and collect welfare and f#@k all day instead. No sympathy.

I'd like to see these 'poor' people's high school GPA. That should tell the story alone.

There's a difference between a protest and a strike. Anyone who doesn't show up for their scheduled shift gets the boot in my book...

the majority of them are probably Paid protesters the Unions bus in...They have become so dishonorable and could care less if people lose their jobs..Look at Wonder Bread, they did the same thing around Christmas last year and a whole slew of people lost their jobs when Wonder went our of business

then people wonder why Unions have a bad reputation anymore

Speaking of FL. Yes, and you can try suing the employer...have your check book ready. Let me clue you in. Any business will have records and can build a case against you, honest or not. Some minimum wage worker won't have the money to sue anyhow, so good luck. A manager can say anything he wants, which is why its always in your best interest to be a good friendly worker. You can sue your employer for firing you even after uppercutting your boss at a Christmas party. Might not win, but you can do it. If you're a minority you can pull the race card even if there is no proof at all and most businesses will quietly settle. But good luck getting a positive referral and have fun explaining to your next boss why you lost your job. Yes, its against the law to purposely jeopardize future employment, but telling the truth is telling the truth. Its all very tricky. Essentially thats why as soon as the first incident occurs, its all on record....you ARE being watched after that. Believe it. You learn a lot of things working with HR folks=)

As I mentioned in here before, the law is the law. George Wallace thought that blacks shouldn't be admitted to the University of Alabama even though Federal Law said they had to; guess who won?

I am sympathetic to owner operated businesses where the owner is mixing their labor with the employees. And there are many franchise businesses like that. But a McDonald's franchise can cost around 2 million dollars and then on top of that in order to qualify the owner has to have at least $750,000 in liquid cash available in order to qualify. The average restaurant owner, AFTER expenses, clears between $500,000 and $600,000 a year. A McDonald's isn't your typical "Mom and Pop" place where they are struggling to make ends meet. You have to be fairly well off to even qualify for one and then once you have one it is basically a license to print money. Hell, 88% of of McD's franchise owners own more than one location.

I would like to go up to the strikers and ask them what was their high school GPA. That'll probably clue everyone in why their all still working at McDonalds full time.
