    I think militarily it’s a great move. That said I don’t think the decision came from a guy who can’t answer reporters without getting in trouble or who can’t decide when he’s done speaking on his own without being cut off

    Is making a better offer than the French, and also in US national interests, screwing anyone?

    The French nuclear option was initially rejected because it requires significant maintenance. The offer by the US and the UK to supply nuclear technology was a game changer.

    Sure, the French got a bit screwed here but it's a completely understandable business and defense decision.... Would it have been better to cancel the contract, then wait two weeks and ...... Ooopsie.... we have a new deal with other countries out of the blue??

    As AJ said earlier, the French were gonna be ticked regardless...

    I make of this decision:

    1. It was us, the Aussies, who pulled out of the French deal...the US had SFA to do with that.

    2. The Frogs were stuffing around on the deal....we looked elsewhere...and Uncle Sam had the goods we want. They agreed. (It is yet to be seen whether they deliver...unlike the French who were stuffing around.)

    Nothing to do with Biden!
