The IRS doesn't straight out apologize for something that was "made up". How you buy such ridiculous propaganda is hilarious. They absolutely targeted Conservatives and illegally leaked information to Propublica and Elijah Cummings. It sounds like you don't know much about it.

Well, let congress do it's oversight on Trump's taxes. If there is anything there that red flags, they can refer it to the appropriate authorities. No one in America is a King, let's not start now.
The IRS is the appropriate authority and they don't seem to have problems with Trump's taxes. This is the left demonstrating how much they fear Trump in 2024, his influence in the midterms, and how little confidence democrats have in winning elections on their own merits. Biden is a disaster and may not even know what planet he's on in 2024, and after just 6 months it's already being said that many democrats don't want Harris campaigning for them in 2022, she's just as toxic as VP as she was in the primaries.
The IRS is the enforcement agency. This will backfire on democrats like their stupid move for a simple majority vote on judges.
Congress has ultimate oversight over the IRS since it's a department under the control of the executive branch. That's why it's called "oversight".
So what is congress going to do, look at Trump's taxes and see things the experts at the IRS didn't see? Or will they just invent something and pass it on to Maddow just in time for his show?
They will do what they do, scrutinize his tax returns and make sure that the IRS did their due diligence. Why are you so worried, they can't leak them without penalty.

You don't know that. Trump claims to have been under audit for years. It's quite possible that the IRS worked with Cyrus Vance to pass on Trump's tax return and that Trump went all the way to the Supreme Court to stop it. As a Democrat, I want Trump to be everywhere in the public space, making as much noise as possible and being heard from almost daily. And that's what's happening right now. He is by far the best ally the Liberals have ever had.
What a bunch of crap. First, the left claimed that the DOJ was doing Trump's bidding but now they seem totally fine with Biden's DOJ doing the left's bidding. Bottom line is, there is no law that says candidates must make their tax returns public. As such, you can't go back and retroactively do this, particularly when there STILL is no such law requiring candidates to make their tax returns public. The Supreme Court will eventually quash this violation of Trump's rights. If people want to change the law then fine, change the law but you can't make up laws as you go along, particularly when the law hasn't even been changed, even as we speak.
They did a bad job, but the apology was because of the sessions DOJ. Notice how nobody got charged with anything?
Personally, I believe that the Supreme Court would rule that "Congress" abused their power. It wasn't Congress, it was TDS infected Democrats in the House. There was no reason to secure Trump's tax returns other than abuse of power for partisan political reasons, and now the situation has become moot. Why would they currently need Trump's tax returns? There is no reason.
There are several things that can be revealed by a person's taxes that the IRS doesn't look for because they either don't constitute a crime or aren't directly part of the IRS's purview. Conflicts of interest, for example. If Trump was getting loans from foreign banks, that's a conflict of interest with regard to his leadership of the country (this is one of the reasons Congress wants his taxes, to bolster their desire to pass a law requiring all presidential candidates to release their filings to potentially expose such things). Additionally, campaign finance violations can become clear based on information in an individual's tax filings.
Because he brags often about how he avoids taxes. He might help them close abused loopholes in the tax code.
