    You misunderstood. Freedom of speech is freedom from censorship from government.
    Has nothing to do with who the speech is against.

    Speech being deplatformed does not amount to censorship from the government.

    No, the government is only restricting free speech if it is actually telling people what they can say or not.

    People have a right to control the access and use of their own private property. I am absolutely baffled when I hear so-called conservatives come on here complaining that their "right" to say something on another person's platform has been curtailed. It is NOT YOUR PROPERTY, you don't pay for the Internet access, the electricity the server. You're not paying for ANYTHING and you are DEMANDING the free use of their property to promulgate viewpoints they have usually already SAID they disagree with strongly. Would you go on Vatican Radio and demand they broadcast your essay promoting abortion on demand? Would you let it on your OWN website? This is about as clear and egregious a violation of another's property rights as I can even conceive of. It is totally immoral and blatantly unfair yet I see it demanded by CONSERVATIVES here all the time. What the **** is WRONG with you people?

    Unfortunately, 'platforms' can censor what they deem inappropriate.

    When you sign up for an account, you accept their user agreement. It is the platform, not the government who sets the rules..

    We are like 8th on the list in deaths per million. Sure it would be better to be 9th or 10 or 205th, but it isn't like we are leading the pack.

    Tenth actually, but being tenth worst isn’t much to brag about. We’re still 5 times higher than the would average. Kind of shame, considering we’re the greatest nation on earth.
