The mag and assault weapons ban were implemented decades ago. So far....not a hassle for me to be able to buy and use weapons. There was no hassle when I bought my 686 revolver or my 1911 or my Sig 229 or my Ruger Mark IV.
We also have a different population density, cultural diversity, access to mental health care, poverty dispersion... many if not all of those countries with tough gun laws had lower crime rates before the gun laws and they just stayed low. In fact there is some correlation to suggest that gun laws only ever work in populations that were never interested in guns in the first place.
The best way to reduce the murder rate in the US is to bring the rate of murders committed by blacks in line with the rate of murders committed by white.
It is not up to me to amend anything. It is up to the politicians to do it. We are the ones that have to approach the politicians to give them an incentive to amend.
and that requires us giving the Blacks better living and educational conditions and taking away the anger they feel from the racism Whites give them. Sounds like a good solution to me.
Its up to the people to ratify it. It takes about 15 million people to say "no" to stop it. Never happen.
No. It doesn't. It requires the expectations of the society they live in. -That- doesn't cost a dime.
This video is interesting because they talk of research shoeing causality between reduced mass shiitings and our gun control legislation
Then, let us continue to be the pinnacle nation of death by firearms. If nothing can be done, we might as well commit suicide and, at least, stop worrying about it. What a ridiculous post!
Hey, stop dreaming and face reality. Your desires, ideas, and wants are not doable. We might as well pray for a miracle.
I did. But you aren't interested, because it doesn't require more government programs, spending or control.
So, then let us do nothing and we can continue to be the nation with the most guns and the MOST KILLINGS.
Bottom line is that we have the most killings by guns of any other nation in the world by far. If something is not done to reduce the guns we will never reduce the numbers. Is that what you propose? Just ignore the problem?
How many guns in the US were not used to kill someone today? How many were? The number of people killed always adds up; as such it is impossible to reduce the number of people killed.
Actually there is now impressive research showing that just securement of firearms would reduce the suicide rate https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1763337/ https://www.rand.org/research/gun-policy/analysis/essays/firearm-availability-suicide.html https://injepijournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s40621-021-00352-8 https://everytownresearch.org/solution/responsible-gun-storage/
Homicide is not connected to people in guns I've owned guns that never committed homicide and I'm like 50 million people in the country. What you need is better district attorneys and more police.
Please describe the mechanics of this How does the fact my guns are in a safe make it less likely I will kill myself?
No, it only showed that you do not understand how grandfathering does and does not work in various cases.
