I suggest you cease whining about Trump since you can't take it either.

Then quit whining that your hero is getting trashed by the media. It's his own damn fault for acting liking a petulant toddler.

For the same reason Trump fans whine when the Emperor is told he has no clothes.

Sad but true. Hypocrisy has always been a problem in Washington, but nowadays it's an epidemic across the land.

Ummm. Herb was the guy who is credited with writing the "readers respond" letter in the Baltimore Sun, you linked as proof the President committed treason.

    Herb Cromwell, Catonsville

Are you revealing you don't read your links? Are you revealing you just jumped on the juicy headline?

What does that say about the 17 bright shining Republicans and The Clintons that Trump beat without running ads and with only a tiny campaign organization while on extended family travel vacation?

You know what, Te? I'm very glad that we 'scored' 66 2/3% in agreement on this NYT op-ed episode. We have had moments of agreement before -- notably about forbidding gun-possession to "criminals-and-crazies". So, I do look forward for more areas of agreement in the future, even though I know they will require a good deal of the two of us meeting each other 'halfway'. Cheers!

*** Last thought *** Can you imagine what kind of changes we could make in this country if people with opinions as diverse as yours and mine could finally find areas of consensus and effect beneficial changes in the United States? The mere idea of it probably terrifies the real 'Deep State' and its 'Insiders' and 'overlords'....

Because they're human beings, like anyone else. The military has no real processes that select for individuals with integrity. Indeed, it seems to often require that one sacrifice that virtue in service of the highest value there is, saving lives. Dwight Eisenhower was the man I most admire for what seems an integrity beyond the human, yet even he had to often 'go along to get along' with his often very much less gifted generals and particularly with Joseph Stalin, possibly the only Ally we could have had who was worse than the Devil himself.

You posted a link to a readers respond letter sent in to the Baltimore Sun, by some guy named Herb Cromwell, as proof the President is a traitor.

    Really?

Too bad that you have repeatedly FAILED to cite even a single factoid that supports your conspiracy theory about this imaginary "massive scandal that is being covered up"!

For the last time this PROVES that at least one of your beloved BLOTUS's team HAVE been indicted and subsequently pleaded guilty for lying about CONTACTING the RUSSIANS!

Your bogus allegation that none of them have ever been indicted is EXPOSED by the FACTS cited above.

The secret to achieving what you are proposing is to look for the areas of common ground on which to form a basis to build upon. Yes, each side will always have "sacred cow" principles that they will never be willing to sacrifice under any circumstances but to allow them to become obstacles to doing what is best for America and We the People is being pigheaded to the point of harming both America and We the People.

So standing rigidly on partisan principles is NOT a good thing IMO. We differ as to which media sources are credible but both of us agree that the 1st amendment upholds the rights of the media sources to have their partisan viewpoints.

In the spirit of compromise I would offer that we reinstate the principle that ALL SIDES of every story MUST be honestly and objectively provided when the media is reporting on an issue. Just imagine how that would DEFANG the screeds of disinformation that cause the petty divisiveness that we face on a daily basis.

This entire thread would never have occurred because the NYT would not have been able to publish that op-ed WITHOUT giving the WH the opportunity to provide a counterpoint op-ed at the same time.

Sign me up. I'd also like to do away with winner-take-all states; especially in states where the results end up 55/45. Split those votes by county. That makes every person's vote a bit more meaningful (or a lot more meaningful in some states, like Cali, where the R voice never gets heard, even though there are millions of Rs in Cali..)

The election of anti-establishment outsiders like Trump, and primary winners like Cortez and Gillum proves that elections work just fine when efforts to rig them fail.

Every American who now fears Big Government, a super majority, should vote against every Democrat candidate so long as Trump is in office.

    :roflol:

If your beloved BLOTUS is "anti-establishment" then why did he give himself and the rest of the establishment a MASSIVE TAXCUT while screwing over the people who voted for him?

All tax cuts are good. But they do usually generate more tax revenue that is inevitably used to expand government - that part is bad. :)

What makes you suppose it is not legal to contact Russians?

Even the charges were not what you keep claiming. It was due to him lying about the date of his contact, not that he did wrong trying to talk to the female Russian.
You keep speaking as if you speak a foreign language and do not comprehend facts.

Repeatedly I said his lie is over dates. This is why he got 14 days in prison.

The Papadopoulos prosecution is just another Fake News "bombshell" that has "fizzled".

"At least on paper, Papadopoulos’s knowledge appeared to hold the key to a number of mysteries in the Russia investigation — including whether high-ranking Trump campaign officials unlawfully conspired with Moscow to tip the election.

But Mueller and his team knew better, and from the very beginning, they left us breadcrumbs signaling that Papadopoulos wasn’t all he was cracked up to be."
NEW YORK MAGAZINE, RUSSIA PROBE 1:40 A.M., Why the Mueller Probe’s Papadopoulos Bombshell Fizzled, By Cristian Farias, 9/11/18.
