I am pretty sure the people whose lands we took from them using violence thought so. Please keep in mind, I am not saying what we did was wrong. However, we were not INVITED.

Let's not mince words here, is all I am saying. We took the land from the natives. Sometimes at the point of a gun, some times through a deal with money, but we took it all the same. We were never INVITED.

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?
    It doesn't justify illegal immigration.

Your correct, my initial reply was only to the poster that said we were INVITED to this country when we came. I was simply correcting them and saying we were not invited, by the definition of the word.

I am very conservative when it comes to immigration. I want our borders sealed up tight, our businesses prosecuted severly for hiring illegals, and our non-medical related benefits to illegal immigrants cut.

If one is an illegal alien one gets to pick and choose which laws to observe and which to ignore.

Screw America...and bugger Australia and Laos while you're at it.

The answer would be yes according to George Bernard Shaw.

It's not really my country any longer. There is no moral obligation to her whatsoever.

OK, cool. We're in perfect agreement. But what's the fun in that? :)

Laos was totally buggered in the 1960s and 70s.

I sort of like the way the Han Chinese deal with foreigners.

The mother should return to Mexico. Put her kids up for adoption. Problem solved.

You're right. But that doesn't justify the current situation. If we're going to roll like that, maybe I need to blame Noah for displacing my ancestors. :)

Your use of the word "society" connotes community. There is no longer any community in America.

Her children shouldn't have to watch that. They should simply be put up for adoption while their birth mother travels around the country as you suggest.

That was then, this is now. Do not look for moral principles. The world has ever been thus.

Heh, it's okay. I don't plan on leaving this message board any time soon. I am sure we can find plenty of topics to argue about. :p

That's certainly true of the Mexican citizens living in California illegally isn't it?

I've never known anyone to say that illegal aliens do not get welfare. I think everybody knows that.

They get the same subsidies and entitlements as African Americans get ... EBT cards, Medicaid, social security checks, etc.

The only major difference is that illegals actually find jobs and work whenever they can. They double-dip. When they work they have enough money to send a lot of it back to Mexico to relatives or bank savings accounts. Even more ironic is if they go back to Mexico, the U.S. Government continues to mail them their Social Security checks.

Upon arrival to the U.S., the first place they go to is the local Department of Social Services and apply for welfare. And of course, Democratic staff members are eager to sign them up for welfare and arrange for them to get the necessary fake documents to allow them to vote ... Democratic!

If CEO corporate tycoons can raid the country and strip mine everything for themselves like they do, and that's acceptable, then this lady needs to have her free food. I see no inconsistency when comparing the two scenarios.

Indeed, the biggest welfare cheats are billionaires who insist on making their money and more besides in tax avoidance schemes and who are not prosecuted but actively supported by the government.

Yes, the super wealthy corporate raider types like to shift the focus of their cannibalism towards those "other" poor people and blame them (and people are stupid enough to swallow it) while they quietly run off with the contents of the vault.

    lmao - sure...

Tell you what, I'll illegally sneak into Australia and help myself to some free universal healthcare on your dime. And I'll pop out 7 kids while I'm at it. And you should be proud, because it's just an example of how generously Australia treats their poor.

    Yeah right...

That was easy. You can bunk in with the Sri Lankans, Afghanis and Iraqis. Nauru is lovely all time of the year.
