Cherry picking? You're the one who singled out that quote.

So why did you assume that it wasn't a general statement?

Oh, you made a general statement at some point during this thread? Just one, or would you care to be more specific?

The implications of the whole story are quite clear.

Unless you are a DEM troll you should easily be able to see that.

Teenaged skank goes to teen drinking party with older boys.

    Think about it.

So the younger girl is at fault for an older boy attacking her?

The GOP is victimizing the victim.

A loaded question, like the "Have you quit beating your wife?" question allowing only a yes or no reply.
I'm hoping Kavanaugh will be confirmed. I'm a strict believer in the Constitution being applied not by interpretation in modern terms but in terms relative to when the words were written, allowing changes to occur only through the amendment process, and in clear and concise words with but one interpretation for all.

Could it be possible that Ford, while drunk, at one time may have hit on Kavenaugh or someone she may have thought to be him, who was unreceptive to her advances which left her festering anger for several decades?

That seems even less likely than simple mistaken identity, or completely making it up as the means to the end of delaying/denying his confirmation. Though her simply telling the truth seems the most likely, and maybe Kav is one of those people who don't remember things when they're blackout drunk. Or maybe something happened but it wasn't nearly as bad as she described. Lots of possibilities. But credibility comes with numbers for things like this. If there's any truth to the recent things claimed by Avenatti, then things would tip in Ford's favor and a few republicans would likely be flipped. Some can't be flipped... like he could probably rape a puppy in front of McTurtle and still get his vote.

I think that the word "skank" to describe her is stupid.

The most likely environment is that Dr. Ford is telling what she believes happened.

Teens party. Ford was out of her league. K was drunk and went after her. That makes sense.

If I remember correctly, the term 'trailer trash' is what was applied to Clintons accusers.

If it was really a big deal, why didn't the puppy bother to report it?

I guess you did not know any skanks in your teens then.

    She was a skank.

    Trust me on that.

I'm just waiting to see if the race card gets played if the accusation by Ford appears uncertain in producing a desired result.

I did not even realize there was a 'virgin' card to be played until Kavanough played it.

Could be multiple reasons, "it wasn't a big deal", "it didn't happen", but after more than 3 decades it would appear the ONLY reason for the accusation is a political based reason.

Kavanaugh didn't play a 'virgin' card, he was asked and answered a question, a loaded question at that (like this poll question being asked).
Should we start requiring all politicians to reveal the age they lost their virginity? And perhaps with whom?

Now that I have heard her testify I do NOT believe she was a skank.

What she WAS is an unfortunate foolish 15 year old girl who walked into an ambush with some of her friends.

    She was targeted.

Yup sounds like it from the testimony before the Senate Committee so far.

I think Kavanaugh's denials so far are what will get him into the most trouble.

Best thing would have been for him to come forward and apologize when he still had the chance. But's that's water under the bridge now.

Best thing for the GOP to do is withdraw Kavanaugh's nomination.

Then it will all depend on the midterm elections coming up.

If they can hold onto the Senate then they need to start over.

If they do not hold onto the Senate then whomever is the next nomination will certainly be more activist than Kavanaugh is likely to have been.

If the Senate now confirms Kavanaugh then the GOP could get slaughtered in November.

Agreed. If he's lied under questioning, then how can anyone trust him to conduct himself in an honest, dignified manner while serving as a judge whether federal or SCOTUS??
