I don't get it. You are too cerebral for me.

I would be afraid of Val Kilmer's pointy nipple stabbing me in the eye.

    You broke it, actually.

I don't find human trafficking funny. Bigot.

Come on, Herk. Teaching you the proper technique for "sts" is like teaching a future airlift stud how to land a T-6.

    I'll go grab the Bengay...

Why am I not surprised that flyboy crosses his legs like a chick? Do they remove your nuts so you can fit into a harness better?

I don't think those are U.S. Air Force in the "chair force" photo, I don't recognize the patches...
anyway even if they are, in the spirit of good humor...

of course, nothing Homoerotic about a bunch of Marines in this photo...

Well at least they aren't subtle about what they want.

OK. With the honor of having the last word, I choose:

    Weenis

Where are their reflective belts? And the two on the end...is that the sodomy mikezila was talking about?

It's not gay if it's in the field...or cold outside.

...and come to think of it, these are probably boots being hazed....so its also NOT gay.

The dude crossing his legs should learn how to be comfortable witout being
    completely feminine looking...and I don't think that's USAF...being serious.

I don't think the Marines are actually gay, it's a joke, and I understand military humor...
I was going to say, in some ways the military can be one "gay joke" after another 24/7.

I don't know if that's going to all change now with the repeal of DADT, gotta be PC and all that jazz. Can't offend anyone's sensibilities afterall.

I was also kidding. It was a long standing joke while i was in that "it" isn't GAY if "X" holds true. I once had to crawl in a sleeping bag with another dude on a field op because all of my gear had gotten soaked through that day and it was 20 degrees outside. It was get "comfy" with that guy or get hypothermia/freeze to death.

Another common saying in the Marine Corps was, when told to get real tight in a line or formation (do the AF even have those?), to tell everyone to get "nut to butt." I sometimes say that jokingly with my civvy friends and they look at me like I'm crazy.

You do not see a difference between the chair force and making fun of someones natural sexuality? Do you see the practice of discrimination set upon gays by the government and the military because of ones natural sexuality? There is a difference between joking and prejudice. The old ethnic jokes that went on for years. The gay jokes that go on today. Many of the military personnel were totally against lifting the ban. You could serve as long as you stay hidden.
Homophobia, bigotry, hate, and so on stem from people who understand nothing about the people they attack.
I am not saying any longer that you attacked gays out of hate or ignorance. I believe what you posted was posted in fun. You saw one side of the joke as you call it. I see that side as well as the downside where joke promote much greater problems. When someone is made fun of in a joke it is very easy to take the next step. It is very easy for others who being mean spirited escalate those jokes into other acts.
That is the side that tells me we need think with understanding and compassion for those that are put upon unjustly by society. Many times those thoughts do not even come into play when we see the derogatory statement as humor.
When it turns to real gay bashing and people are hurt it's just not funny anymore. Someone forgot it was just supposed to be a joke.

You have taken the debate out of context. Call the act what you like but when you have two consenting homosexual adults this is not a crime. Sorry you missed the mark.

Well times are changing. DADT has been repealed. The uniform code of military justice is being altered to no longer make sodomy a punitive offense. The gay community has won that battle. My only advice for them is to remember that they are serving alongside evangelicals and folks that just don't fully accept the behavior. There needs to be tolerance on both sides of the issue for this to work in practice, not just theory. Military life is completely different from being in the civilian world.

The Commandant of the Marine Corps has reported that there have been no problems since the repeal.
It seems that the servicepeople are more mature than some of our thread crawlers.

Grow some thicker skin. In the military you'll get made fun of for everything. Being tall, short, fat, blonde, redhead, race, religion, accent, region, sexuality, leftheaded...in other words, everything under the sun. In the military you're expected to go to the most stressful enviornment in the world and function as part of a team. If you get your feelings hurt with silly words then you won't be able to handle the stress and you definitely won't be able to work as a team. Theres a VAST difference between bigotry and off-color jokes. To an outsider this may seem blury and indistinguishable to you, but I assure you it's a very fine line that military members know and understand.

I found the military to be a very refreshing experience in diversity. I was mixed into a diverse environment where everyone made fun of everything but everyone got along. I became incredibly close friends with an extremely diverse group of people (maybe some were even gay). Now that I've gotten out I go to a large private university in the Northeast that prides itself (as all urban schools do) on "diversity" and openmindedness. This school is probably at the cutting edge of modern so-called diversity. I've found this school, and all the other ones nearby, to be 10 times as segregated as the military. Blacks hang out with blacks, whites with whites, gays with gays, foriegn with foriegn, etc. All the pandering and pretty speeches these schools make about being "diverse" and "tolerant" are for nothing.

Do you know why its for nothing? Its for nothing because all these diverse people aren't forced to live and work together under close conditions. You can tell people your open-minded all you want, but until you learn to live with and rely on them you won't trully see and appreciate them for what they are.....just another human being in a different skin/orientation/background etc.

Trust me, when you're getting shot at all you care about is results, not the color of someone's skin.

First: A 4 star general wouldn't be made aware of many problems. Dirty looks, resentments, and alterior motives aren't quanitfiable at that level.

You'll also find that the "brass", both civilain and military, is applying tremendous pressure to make this go smoothly.

They should censor and hide any problems for the sake of political correctness and votes?

No. Apply serious pressure to make sure it goes smoothly.
    Isn't that what you said?
    What a truly bizarre post.

Now we have the god fearing evangelicals in the mix. Those that believe that killing is a sin. Isn't there a commandment about that. Didn't Jesus say something about turning the other cheek and forgiving. He said love one another as I have loved you. Yet the documented civilian casualties or innocent life that was taken is between 104,441 and 114,124. http://www.iraqbodycount.org/

They don't have a lot going for them. The religious contingent if there were a heaven will have a lot of explaining to do. They have no room to judge anyone with the amount of blood on their commutative hands.

There is no reason this transition should not go smoothly.
