    Here's a question...

if you're an anti-gay guy.......would you want your sister to marry a man who went through "reparative therapy" and NOW claims that he's straight and "God took the gay away"?

Or would you worry that God might "forget to keep up with him"...

and 5-10-15-20 years later, the man would "have a relapse" and leave her for another man or CHEAT ON HER with another man?

I like how the guys against bills like this ignore the one breakinf down and SEEKING help, which they wont be able if this passes making the "gay" suicide rate higher.

    - - - Updated - - -

"gays" who go straight have a next to none turnover rate.

Weird. AA does not make alcoholics into non alcoholics. How does this god stuff make gay people into straight people?

Good thing schools are teaching gay sex in some places. No abuse there at all.

    Wait...

so food addictions, you can seek a professional
drinking addictions, you can seek a professional
sex addictions, you can seek a professional
gay sex addiction though.... you're a bigot if you support it, and it's unproven even though all the above have shown success doing the same thing.

glad we cleared up where you draw the line

One antecedal story from someone who is a representative of an organization (he makes money off it) that practices conversion therapy, he even admits that he represses his same sex attractions. I'm sure he has more credibility than 20+ medical and psychological organizations.

Why do all the converts always have a stake in convincing others it's effective? Where are the peer reviewed medical journals covering this breakthrough? Conformation bias is all you people have.

it's a fair question... I'll answer it like a gay supporter would....

    2 consenting adults
    none of your business

I'm not a fan of my brother's current wife and it has nothing to do with sexual orientation. I can support/not support my family marrying a former gay just like I could a former alcoholic, former druggie, etc.

Like any addiction though, there is always a chance of relapse that I would worry about. But if they are a good gal, I'm supportive. Even when I don't like his choice, I respectfully keep my mouth shut. Noone supported my first wife either. Hell, if she were gay, she wouldn't have fell onto that black penis..... multiple times. ;)

I didn't claim it was 100% effective. But it worked here, and this guy would still be gay had it not been for the program you want to outlaw. a program that didn't use any illegal methods to work.

Are you kidding me? God is clearly the higher power. If you look at the original 12 steps you can see that. It is without a doubt religious, they just put a small cover over it to pretend it's something it is not. It is d a dishonest tactic to keep having people mandated to attend their meetings.

I can't imagine why one would be opposed to a recovered gayaholic any more than one would be opposed to a recovered alcoholic or the 30 year old guy who stole candy when he was 12.

If a person was engaged in or curious about gay-sex, received treatment, and stopped the gay-sex, then why not?

It appears that the opposers of this are more obsessed with God and religion than Christians themselves are.

It depends on whether the gay believes in God.
Your candidate believes. Hillary Rodham Clinton held imaginary conversations with Eleanor Roosevelt and Mahatma Gandhi as a therapeutic release, according to a new book written by Bob Woodward.
The first lady declined a personal adviser's suggestion that she address Jesus Christ, however, because it would be "too personal," according to Woodward's book, "The Choice."
Woodward says the adviser was Jean Houston, co-director of the Foundation for Mind Research, which he describes as a group that studies the psychic experience and altered and expanded consciousness.
Woodward suggests the White House hoped to keep Mrs. Clinton's relationship with Houston and her talks with the dead a secret.

Well, I am pretty intolerant of stupidity and ignorance.

My candidate? You are a funny guy or gal. I am not sure what that rant has to do with me nor the thread topic. Clearly that is a derogatory invention meant to fling poo.

How are they being abused. You can't answer that without making crap up. You have no idea what goes on in a therapy session. And stop hiding behind the children. You have no problem slicing and dicing them in the womb.

Faux outrage? Along the lines of faux teacher?

    I jest.

I think that one can go by the highly bigoted source in the OP one that hates homosexuals in the name of the loving Christ, but I think that most reasonable folks realize that you can not change sexual orientation by ritual sacrifice of virgins or whatever it is those extreme cultists do.
