Lol too many to count so just give case studies on say 20 of each.

Confine each to "drug therapy" so I can keep up in my books.

Also lol at your sub proper suggestion about a macrolide.

It's not what the dying person has to lose but everyone after them.

Relax, the turd polishers have gone into overdrive over the coronavirus crisis trying to distract from trump's diarrhea of lies and fake news. Irrational hyperbole is to be expected. It just shows how desperate they have become as they watch their orange dotard make an ass of himself every time he opens his mouth.

They like to attack the US media as being irresponsibly anti-trump, but the problem is not the media but trump and his pathetic example of leadership in a crisis.
This is from a UK media.

Well I'm assuming the FDA has been working round-the-clock on testing this since there is so much at stake globally? Or are they taking their time to plan on large clinical trials while people die and the world is shut down?

I've been following this as well, and it's very good news to hear of the testing that shows effectiveness. NY's Cuomo also was excited about it. I do understand the FDA wants to test further, but honestly, this is no time to be the inefficient gov't agency who takes years to complete tasks. Get on with it NOW!

Also, why is this so upsetting to lefties? I can see they are not comfortable hearing about a drug that can possibly work against coronavirus. I haven't seen one of them happy to hear the news.

Here is the data from the study. It certainly looks encouraging. IMO under the "right to try" philosophy people should be allowed to obtain a prescription from their physician and begin taking this combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin. There are minimal long term side effects when taking the prescribed dosage. There are cases of fatality when 30 tablets are ingested at the same time.

The University of California is looking at 40 potential existing pharmaceuticals to block the Wuhan virus by denying it just a single human protein in the Wuhan virus's replication process. They are working closely with the Pasteur Institute in France and Sinai Medical in NY to accomplish this as quickly as possible.

Why in hell wouldn't you want to turn over every rock rather than just try to make a specific rock that does not exist yet? Do both. Get the fastest good results possible.

Exactly. And why are our medical leaders adverse to allowing individuals to make informed decisions about readily available medications with positive evidence and few side effects. In particular healthcare providers in proximity to those affected could be taking hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin as a prophylactic. It seems to me immoral not to do so and important data could be generated.

I saw the research paper and it is a small non-randomised study

Which means it could turn out to be right and it could turn out to be wrong

This is why the experts are saying “let’s be cautious” and the average idiots are going to overdose themselves if they get their hands on chloroquinine

Physicians have complex, lengthy, bureaucratic protocols that they must adhere to in order to maintain good standing in the medical community. Independent thought and approach is looked askance upon and quickly crushed.

That maybe works just okay, hanging by a thread, in ordinary times but this ain't ordinary times.

Is there any evidence that it has a prophylactic effect?

Yes. Some physicians are actually prescribing chloroquine. Why not all at this point in time?
