    Well the early reports are usually not right, not complete, or contradictory. SM reports 50 dead.

    The difference is that Reuters will never report until they're 100% certain. 50 killed? That's awful; but sometimes they're the lucky ones?

    They report on what the police tell them. Apparently many of these new victims who passed away did so at the hospital and en route there.

    Well whatever this guy was about. He will be topping the charts with this shooting. As well as dominating the next couple of news cycles.

    Certainly topped out all the shootings the City of Chicago had here last night. Shootings all over the place. So far, only 2 dead here.

    They said people had turned barriers over and started laying the bodies on them.

    Firing from the 32nd floor with an Auto at a mass of people all bunched up for a concert. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

    Just an appalling act of horrific mass murder and mass wounding. If the numbers are correct (50+ dead, 200+ wounded) this shooting will be the worst in US history. And the shooter is reportedly a 64 year male, a somewhat local/area resident? I wonder what set him off.

    A very, very sad day for Las Vegas and the nation.....

    If these numbers are accurate, you're right - this will be the worst mass shooting in this country's history. What a terrible horrible day.

    The big news will be when they finally catch his companion, assuming that she doesn't off herself before then. What could possibly have been this bastard's motive?

    True, but there are also Americans out there fighting for ISIS. Dude could be a satan worshipper for all we know with no connection to Trump whatsoever.

    Tell me you wouldn't politicize the tragedy if the perpetrator was a Muslim and had used a truck as a weapon. But, of course, since sacred guns are at stake, politicizing is unacceptable.

    What a terrible tragedy. This makes me almost as sad as the Newtown massacre many years ago. Thoughts go with the victim's families.

    Unfortunately, there seems to be no shortage of deranged individuals who want to go out in a blaze.

    Trump won the election, Trump followers are happy.
    Hillary lost the election - Hillary/Obama lovers are not happy.

    As a rule, happy people do not go out, murdering an innocents.

    Therefore, tis mass murderer must be Hillary/Obama lover, and a Liberal.

    I think it's a bit different. If it's a Muslim acting as part of a jihad, then commenting on that is directly relevant to the atrocity. Politicising something IMO is shoehorning something into the situation that doesn't belong there. And until we have more information, that would include Trump at the moment. But I'd certainly agree that the Muslim attacks are often politicised before the facts are known. I even heard Fox people today speculating how the shooter was 'radicalised' before his name was even know...

    I see a thread started by someone whose name begins with "nra" about a stabbing over the weekend in Paris that killed two people. Of course it became a Muslim bashing thread. Perhaps that poster went into that thread and wagged his finger at everyone who was politicizing that tragedy. I mean, it would be hypocritical not to. And I'm sure they will all come in here and ask about when enough will be enough and we will run gun owners out of town.
