    So your main problem with masturbation is because it is selfishly giving yourself pleasure, which is hedonistic?

    What about watching TV? Isn't that selfishly giving yourself pleasure?

    What about playing video games? Isn't that selfishly giving yourself pleasure?

    What about any other solitary activity you enjoy?

    What makes masturbation, even in moderation, hedonistic and thus bad? What is different about it?

    Cause it simulates sex. And sex is about procreation. And procreation is divine and stuff. And any practice that simulates sex is an abomination.

    This branches into another issue blooming forth from the pursuit of hedonistic pleasure. Man is supposed to grow slack as he grows older and a woman menopausal so that children aren't brought into the world that the parents are too old to raise. Yet we now market drugs to thwart the natural slowing down that couples are supposed to experience, finding different ways to be intimate and affectionate to each other. The message is simple, anything and everything should be done to keep having the pleasure of sex. Pleasure is idolized, even if it means risking a heart attack. It's a beastial and animalistic perversion of true values, true love, and righteous priorities. It's demonic.

    Why is it an abomination to simulate sex? Sure, sex may be about procreation and procreation may be divine. However, that does not mean you cannot use sex for other purposes.

    Just like using bread for hosts doesn't make other uses of bread an abomination.

    Or like how using wine for blood doesn't make other uses of wine an abomination.

    Both of those things are divine and special in (most) christian faiths.

    In the extremely unlikely event that the OP is serious - I am gobsmacked that anyone over the age of eight should even express an opinion on masturbation.

    During the evolution of the species, frequent procreation was essential to ensure survival of that particular species. Hence the development of a strong sexual urge - the strongest after survival. As the human animal organised itself into societies, the females became valued and sought after property. This meant societal prohibitions upon random sexual activity, so other means of satisfying the sexual urge developed - masturbation being the most convenient and easily accessed. It is a natural activity, and frequent orgasm is reported to have health advantages. End of. :D

    I've heard that in a few medical opinions.

    Of course I'm sure the body works to compensate (for not having sex); but doing that moderately, is likely very healthy (especially if you aren't getting any).
