Don't worry about the possible extinction of the black race. The reason black women have more abortions is the fact that they have more unintended pregnancies. Perhaps black women don't have as easy access to birth control as other women. Perhaps a lack of sex education causes them to make errors in using birth control, who knows?

:) "Rabid" ? No, just a lot of slam dunking the OP into the trash where it belongs.........guess it was too much trouble to address any posts or answer questions....like why should people be outraged over a legal activity ?.....or why you want to control black women's reproductive choices?.....and a whole lot of other posts you couldn't address.

If you increase access and availability and don't address the reasons behind why women run to abortion, i can guarantee you will see an increase in the abortion rate.

And nothing about abortion is normal. Normal implies its naturally occuring. Having your uterus scraped out by foreign instruments is not natural.

And when you say "they" i hope you don't mean all women. Because im a woman and i find dismemberment abhorrent. And i know plenty of women who agree with me. We are not all like pro choice women who have no problem with dismembering a living being just because it dared to exist.

No one's trying to normalise it? So no one is trying to silence those who oppose it by excluding them from political parties? No one is trying to silence or discredit the women who say abortion damaged them? No one is trying to stop women being comprehensively informed about abortion before they go through with the procedure? No one is posting happy go lucky abortion videos showing the world that abortion is a complete non issue? No one is trying to educate teens on the option to abort (but conveniently leaving out the gory details)?

And yes i want to ban elective abortion after 12 weeks gestation and put more focus into treating the cause.

Germany has one of the lowest abortion rates in the world. They restrict elective abortion after 12 weeks. So clearly you don't need unfettered access to abortion in order to reduce the abortion rate. And clearly its not impossible to address other issues like contraception, education and social justice. Capitalist nations just need to stop being misogynistic, materialistic, selfish jerks.

Please provide proof of this assertion from a credible source. My research shows otherwise.

http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/2012/tables/12s0101.pdf - blacks, 9,288 in 2007 (can't find stats for more recent years, if you have them, please produce them)

http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/2011/tables/11s0080.pdf - For the same year, there were 676,000 births by black women.

Last I heard, 676,000 is more than 9,288.

This much is true: In the United States, the abortion rate for black women is almost five times that for white women. Antiabortion activists, including some African-American pastors, have been waging a campaign around this fact, falsely asserting that the disparity is the result of aggressive marketing by abortion providers to minority communities.

The Issues4Life Foundation, for example, is a faith-based organization that targets and works with African-American leaders toward achieving the goal of "zero African-American lives lost to abortion or biotechnology." In April, Issues4Life wrote to the Congressional Black Caucus to denounce Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and its "racist and eugenic goals." The group blamed PPFA and abortion providers in general for the high abortion rate in the African-American community—deeming the situation the "Da[r]fur of America"—and called on Congress to withdraw federal family planning funds from all PPFA affiliates.

These activists are exploiting and distorting the facts to serve their antiabortion agenda. They ignore the fundamental reason women have abortions and the underlying problem of racial and ethnic disparities across an array of health indicators. The truth is that behind virtually every abortion is an unintended pregnancy. This applies to all women—black, white, Hispanic, Asian and Native American alike. Not surprisingly, the variation in abortion rates across racial and ethnic groups relates directly to the variation in the unintended pregnancy rates across those same groups.

Black women are not alone in having disproportionately high unintended pregnancy and abortion rates. The abortion rate among Hispanic women, for example, although not as high as the rate among black women, is double the rate among whites. Hispanics also have a higher level of unintended pregnancy than white women. Black women's unintended pregnancy rates are the highest of all. These higher unintended pregnancy rates reflect the particular difficulties that many women in minority communities face in accessing high-quality contraceptive services and in using their chosen method of birth control consistently and effectively over long periods of time. Moreover, these realities must be seen in a larger context in which significant racial and ethnic disparities persist for a wide range of health outcomes, from diabetes to heart disease to breast and cervical cancer to sexually transmitted infections (STI), including HIV.

How many abortion clinics are found in predominantly white, middle class suburbia?

I don't think any pro-choicers are arguing that addressing the reason for abortion (which is unplanned pregnancy) is essential for reducing the abortion rate.

Abortion is normal, it does occur naturally. So what is your problem with women getting a little medical assistance for nature? Women die without medical assistance for many of the problems that occur with pregnancy/childbirth, nature is not kind.

Melodrama, hyperbole.....Most abortions are done before there is any dismembering.

Miscarriage is normal and natural. Your own body says it doesnt want to be pregnant, and natural unassissted processes happen to expel that pregnancy. If everything doesnt expell normally and naturally you will need medical assistance to ensure the mother doesn't get sick and/or die. But you are not killing anything. You're only saving a life.
Abortion is making the body do something unnatural in order to kill a life.

Most. Meaning over 50%. That's not all. So either dismembering is ok or it isn't, which one?

The proper name for miscarriage is "spontaneous abortion." Elective abortion is causing the abortion by intervention. Sometimes later term abortion are necessary when things go wrong, and then dismemberment abortion is the best choice for the woman's health. Partial birth abortion was developed to prevent dismemberment abortions, but people thought that was too gory so they criminalized that technique.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to clarify some of these matters for the benefit of lurkers who may have questions.

That is correct, or do you have proof that people are being excluded from political parties based on whether they are pro-life or pro-choice, if so please do share it and the source material.

Nope, not at all

They are fully informed, they have to be, under informed consent laws, anything other would leave the doctor open to being sued.

So you want to censor other peoples freedom of speech as well as their other rights .. BTW before you rush in videos are included in the freedom of speech

I'm sure teens are educated on lots of things that leave out the "gory" details, why is it you think that only abortion should be subjected to your wants and desires?

Have i ever once said we should ban abortion? - you need to keep up with your own responses, and as it has already been shown to you banning abortion does nothing to decrease them. Even treating the cause will not mean elective abortion will simply disappear .. it really won't you know.

You really need to research Germany's abortion laws .. In 1995 a law was passed, permitting first-trimester abortions on demand, subject to counselling and a three-day waiting period, and permitting late-term abortions when the physical or psychological health of the woman is seriously threatened. and while a relaxation of abortion restrictions was wanted it could not happen, to do so would violate the countries constitution . .the reality is that elective abortion in Germany is illegal under the Constitutional Court ruling of 1975 and upheld in 1993 .. however, the Constitutional Court of 1993 also stated that it is within the discretion of parliament not to punish abortion in the first trimester provided that the woman had submitted to state-regulated counselling intended to discourage termination and protect unborn life. ergo elective abortion in Germany is in fact illegal at any stage, it is just that the government choose not to punish elective abortion in the first trimester.

1. Germany has a far better comprehensive sex education program than most other countries, including the fact that it is compulsory teaching in all schools. In Germany, sex education has been part of school curricula since 1970. Since 1992 sex education is a governmental duty by law.
2. Germany has a state health service paid for by deductions at source from wages, contraception is covered by this service (called the Gesetzliche Krankenversicherung )
3. Paying for abortions in Germany is done in one of three ways, if it is a termination on criminal or medical grounds it is paid for by health insurance (Krankenkasse) and the state (Bundesland), if it is elective the cost is met by the person, usually through private insurance. In cases where a woman has no or limited income or does not have statutory medical insurance, the state will cover the costs. A woman's personal circumstances are looked at to establish if she is eligible for financial help.

The above things have helped lead to Germany's abortion rate declining, and it was not until these things had been implemented and shown to work that the limitation on elective abortion was introduced in law in 1992, ergo Germany ensured the measures brought in actually worked to reduce abortions BEFORE implementing legal restrictions on elective abortions. The problem you and other pro-lifers have is that you want to ban elective abortions (after 12 weeks) WITHOUT bringing in the other measures and then seeing if they actually work . .that is putting the cart before the horse .. so in essence I fully agree that sex education needs to be improved, contraception needs to be free at source and people need to be bought out of poverty .. but .. these things need to happen BEFORE elective abortion restrictions are imposed.

Another factor pro-lifers tend to over-look is that the fertility rate in Germany is lower than the USA - 30% or women in Germany are childless - that points to an informed and comprehensive contraception usage.

Here are some other differences: in Western Europe, teens get realistic sex education, not abstinence-only propaganda. Girls and women have much better access to birth control and emergency contraception, which are usually paid for by the government. In countries that require mandatory counseling, it is empathetic and nondirective: nothing like our burgeoning network of Christian “crisis pregnancy centers” and state laws requiring women to endure transvaginal ultrasounds, hear fetal heartbeats and look at sonograms. European doctors are not forced to read scripts that falsely warn women that abortion will give them breast cancer and drive them to suicide, and tell them that an embryo the size of a pea is “a unique living human being.” In countries that have waiting periods, distances are smaller, and just to repeat, abortion is widely available and integrated with the normal health system, not shunted off to clinics in a few
cities and college towns. You do not have to travel eight hours four times to get the counseling and fulfill the waiting period—or sleep in your car or the bus station till the time is up.
There are no screaming fanatics thrusting gory photos at you as you make your way to your abortion. No one takes down your license plate in the parking lot and calls you—or your parents—later with hateful messages. Doctors who perform abortions do not wear bulletproof vests, nor are they ostracized by their communities and shunned by other doctors. The whole climate of fear that makes many doctors reluctant to perform abortions and makes some women postpone going to the clinic does not exist.

Abortion is complicated, like everything that has to do with sex. Germany’s abortion rate is much lower than the USA, but Sweden’s is almost the same. The Netherlands is almost as low as Germany, despite permitting abortion much later. In much of Italy, it’s hard to find an abortion because so many doctors refuse to perform them—and yet Italy, like Germany, has one of the world’s lowest fertility rates. One thing seems pretty clear, though: all these countries have plenty of abortions. But in the Western European countries with time limits, there is less need for second trimester abortion because there is far better access to abortion earlier.

Despite claims by antiabortion activists that most U.S. abortion clinics are located in black neighborhoods in order to target black women, fewer than one in 10 abortion clinics are actually located in predominantly black communities. - http://www.guttmacher.org/media/evidencecheck/2011/01/19/Guttmacher-Advisory.pdf

The reason doesn't change the fact that more abortions than live births = extinction.

Of course the trend MIGHT change, but that's not the issue. Where's the outrage is the issue.

:roflol: You didn't get the answers you liked and are NOT able to answer questions so you just keep repeating the same inane questions...

How did I "prove your point"? By not being outraged that abortion is legal and black women have as much right to have one as any other color woman? You hate that???

You haven't asked any questions. Your efforts to avoid the topic are proof enough that my theory has merit. I was surprised to run across the radio guy expressing nearly the same opinion as me... and he's a black male.

Blacks aborting babies at a rate 4 times higher than any other race is an unintended consequence of liberal/democrats insistence on easy access abortions.

Same with unemployment among young black males being twice that of other races.

Black Americans suffered discrimination in the 50s, but they had something valuable they don't have now... strong families. Another unintended
consequence of liberal/Democrats' war on poverty.

There is no outrage because blacks are expendable to Democrats. Gotta wonder why even educated professional blacks aren't outraged. Guess they rationalize it like you do... long as the SC sez it's legal, who cares?

I asked questions in my first post..... they made sense so you, in your headlong rush to vilify blacks and liberals, ignored them.

You don't think black women should have the right to have an abortion...YOU not wanting blacks to have equal rights is hardly surprising...

"Easy access" doesn't explain why blacks choose abortion at a higher rate than any other race, since the access is equally easy to all (At least it used to be before pro-lifers began a campaign to close women's health clinics). You cannot explain the higher abortion rate without first addressing the higher unwanted pregnancy rate.

This article attempts to explain the differences, but it boils down to black women being more likely to be poor, and preventing pregnancy is more difficult for poor women. Get women the best, most reliable birth control for FREE and unwanted pregnancies are reduced radically.

https://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/gpr/11/3/gpr110302.html

Fundamentally, the question at hand is less why women of color have higher abortion rates than white women than it is what can be done to help them have fewer unintended pregnancies. Obviously, facilitating better access to contraceptive services is key. Beyond access, however, dissatisfaction with the quality of services and the methods themselves may be as much or sometimes more of an impediment to effective use of contraceptives.
Studies by Guttmacher Institute researchers, published in Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health in 2007 and in Contraception in 2008, sought to shed some light on the reasons women at risk of unintended pregnancy do not use contraceptives at all or use them only sporadically. Geographic access to services is a factor for some women; however, for many, it is more a matter of being able to afford the more effective—usually more expensive—prescription methods.
Beyond geographic and financial access, life events such as relationship changes, moving or personal crises can have a direct impact on method continuation. Such events are more common for low-income and minority women than for others, and may contribute to unstable life situations where consistent use of contraceptives is lower priority than simply getting by. In addition, a woman's frustration with a birth control method can result in her skipping pills or not using condoms every time. Minority women, women who are poor and women with little education are more likely than women overall to report dissatisfaction with either their contraceptive method or provider. Cultural and linguistic barriers also can contribute to difficulties in method continuation.

What a load of rubbish, as long as live births continue there will be no extinction, now if ALL live births were to cease you might have a point, as it stands you don't.

Outrage of what issue, you like so many pro-lifers never deal with the issues that cause the higher rate of abortion amongst African Americans (& other minorities as well) in the first place, you seem to be under some illusion that by banning abortion or closing clinics that the rate of African American abortions will decrease . .you are deluded.

Why not deal with the issues that place African American women in the position of having to get an abortion instead of peering around with tunnel vision. Pro-lifers consistently put the cart before the horse, deal with the issues that cause this higher rate and then abortion rates will decline.

Except for the fact that life news has already been caught out manipulating the data, misrepresenting it or basically lying. .so their creditability is suspect to say the least.

From your link in the OP

In the media, Planned Parenthood is praised for being “diverse”, but 79% of all their abortion facilities are located near minority neighborhoods. There is no way that’s simply “coincidental.”

That is a lie. less than 1 in 10 PP clinics are located in or near predominantly black communities.

Researchers examined their fresh data on 1,720 abortion providers, the ZIP codes of the providers and 2007-2011 data from the American Community Survey.

They found that 60 percent of all providers are in “majority-white” neighborhoods.

Moreover, this result stayed true even when only providers with 400 or more abortions a year were looked at: Out of 576 providers, 58 percent were in majority white ZIP codes, followed by ones with no racial majority (16 percent), majority Hispanic (16 percent), majority black (9 percent) and majority other race (1 percent).

The possible extinction of the black race?

Did you honestly seriously just type that?

Like for real?

Well, this will be a first time having to type this in my life, but here goes.

Black people are not in danger of becoming extinct.

Again not true, African American women do not abort 4 times higher than "any other race", for one they are not aborting 4 times higher than Latina women, and the reasoning for this is one that by far most conservative pro-lifers ignore or reject out of hand .. poverty. African American women have more unintended pregnancies than any other group and make up the largest part of the people living on or below the poverty line.

Among racial and ethnic groups, African Americans had the highest poverty rate, 27.4 percent, followed by Hispanics at 26.6 percent and whites at 9.9 percent. - - http://stateofworkingamerica.org/fact-sheets/poverty/#sthash.qNGJPd9E.dpuf

In 2008, black women had the highest unintended pregnancy rate of any racial or ethnic groups. At 92 per 1,000 women aged 15–44, it was more than double that of non-Hispanic white women (38 per 1,000) - http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/journals/ajph.2013.301416.pdf

Off topic but ... You don't really understand what the unemployment rate measures, it does not measure people who are "unemployed" ie out of a job, the unemployment rate measures how many people are actively looking for work. If someone gives up on his or her search, he or she is no longer counted as unemployed. There were over seven million Americans who want a job but were not counted as part of the labour force.

When you look at the data coming out of the recovery, you see two things. First, you see that the black unemployment rate has recovered more slowly than the white unemployment rate. Alone, that would seem to indicate that black people are having a harder time finding work. But, you also see that since 2007, before the recession, the percentage of blacks in the labour force (employed or actively seeking work) has fallen by less than the comparable figure for whites (a 2.8 percentage-point decline versus a 3.3 percentage-point fall).
Together these two data points indicate that when black Americans lose their jobs, they stick to their job search for longer than white Americans, inflating the black unemployment rate relative to white's. Every time you read about high unemployment (black or white or anyone), what you're reading about isn't people who are merely out of a job, but people who are working to find their next one, month after month.

of course you have ample data and research to substantiate this assertion .. please provide it.

Utter BS.
