…The moving truck rental company’s annual growth index shows that more moving trucks departed from California than any other state for the third consecutive year. California has had one of the greatest net losses of U-Haul trucks since 2016, always landing in one of the lowest-growth spots.

While the state had the largest net loss of U-Haul trucks overall, several cities in the state had a net gain, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Modesto and Redding. Most cities in Northern California experienced a loss, but there was one big exception. “There are more break-even and net-loss markets in Northern California — with the notable exception of the Sacramento-Roseville area, which remains one of the nation's top growth markets,”…

Three years in a row. Far more people leaving California than coming here. It costs 3x as much to rent a U-Haul one way SF to Dallas than it costs to go the reverse route one way.

There are exceptions. Sacramento-Roseville is booming and Modesto and Redding are one the other side of the u-haul equation. I’m just glad that the conservatives who move but stay instate are moving to Redding.

You can live in denial of people fleeing liberal controlled states if you want. Buy you can't ignore the facts.

    https://www.aei.org/carpe-diem/top-...-tax-business-climate-and-political-measures/

The good news is, this is how it's SUPPOSED to work. States compete for resident and business tax dollars, and like all markets, this competition results in the best product for citizens.

Also why the left likes a centralized authoritative government, so they can forcibly impose their agenda on people that have no way to flee their failed policies.

Welcome your fellow republicans with open arms:

Republicans were more likely to consider moving to red states (51%) than blue states (20%) or swing states (28%).

Democrats were more likely to consider moving to blue states (48%) than red states (25%) or swing states (27%).

It is no secret some Californians are leaving. I think citing U-Haul rentals for such a thing is a bit silly. Of course there will be more rentals. There are more people.

So why are they leaving? Cashing out, taking their equity and moving to places where they can buy bigger houses seems the obvious answer. Another could be moving out of metropolitan areas for open land and working remotely.

It is and will be for a few more years. The issue here is that since peaking at almost 40,000,000 a few years ago it is heading toward being just over 39,000,000 over the last three years. We also for the first time ever lost a congressional seat going from 53 to 52.

Probably cause more people live in California than anywhere else, lot more, like saying more people drive in California than Wyoming and thinking that proves something.

    So
much for the dream of democrats turning Texas Purple. Basically, California, Illinois, and New York are turning more blue and Florida, Texas, and Tennessee are more red.

I think it's a good thing that the different states retain their unique characteristics. I really enjoyed working in West Virginia and anything lacking there I am able to enjoy elsewhere.

there are cheaper homes in more small town and rural areas with open space where working remotely is possible within California. Yet far more leave the state completely than move to Redding, Roseville, and Modesto.

Can’t say I blame them Redding is hot and in the middle of nowhere, Roseville is hot and there is nothing there other than suburban sprawl, and Modesto is hot, in the middle of nowhere, and is jut ugly.

When we escaped the Draconian gun laws, high taxes, masses of homeless and all the other craziness of California.... we used "PODS".

This is encouraging. Hopefully they are all moving to Texas and Florda so they can flip them Blue and completely eliminate the GOP from winning elections.
