Germany has absolutely nothing what it is able to do in this conflict. We are without any influence in North Korea.

The problem is nevertheless a problem for the whole world. If you have a good idea, then say it. If you don't have good ideas - and Nazis never had any good ideas in history - then go back in your bunker continue to sleep.

The conventional bombs that North Korea have now can destroy Seoul if Kim so wanted, obviously leading to the destruction of his country, so I cannot see why would a nuclear bomb be that much more a threat? For the cost of developing a nuclear bomb, he could have made tens of thousands of conventional missiles creating even more of a threat to his neighbours but that has less prestige

You whined after WWII and the United States rebuilt your country. Then we re-unified it, east and west. You dimwits couldn't manage your own reunification.

Germans are such selfish, self centered idiots.

    Cheers,

Good point. The nuclear ICBMs, when perfected and multiplied, would give Kim the power of nuclear blackmail over the U.S. and South Korea. Kim's ultimate goal, a goal started long ago before he was power, is reunification of the Koreas under the dictatorship of the North. No amount of conventional weapons would give him the ability to bring about reunification. I believe he thinks nuclear power would.

No, Kim having a nuclear bomb would not give any higher power of blackmail over South Korea than his current conventional bombs have. I believe that he wants the nuclear bomb just for his prestige, in his goal to believe he is in with the big boys and display his power to his population. He has no intention of ever using nuclear weapons

Don't ask me why tyrants are far from every human logic. This makes the whole situation very unpredictable. And in such a situation it's always good to follow the rule "Four eyes see more than two eyes". The nations all around have to work together. Japan with China for example. I would suggest to prepare a strike against the leading elites of North Korea - the people who are responsible for the disaster there. This means we have to know who are this people and where they are. A blind strike against the people of North Korea is nothing what impresses a tyrant. And it would also not impress him, if we would suggest to help the people in North Korea with trades and business. The more people are dying for the narcissism of a tyrant the more happy this ******* will be.

I don't trust him. And I won't trust him with the power to annihilate the U.S. and end our existence.

I think because he is a head-of-state, it is hard for us to wrap our heads around the idea that the North Koreans made a terrible mistake when they elevated him to power after the death of his father. I think he is paranoid and holds an apocalyptic vision of the future, and he reminds me of Jim Jones. You say he has no intention of ever using nuclear weapons because you are projecting your own rationality onto him. I don't.

We did not whine after world war 2 and the USA did not rebuild Germany.

    ?

One moment please: Is this grammar correct now? Should it not be "Americans" instead of "Germans"?

Do you like to say you drink alcohol on early sunday morning? Ah yea - okay - corresponds with your words.

This is not worthy of you - I have long respected you as a first class correspondent. Demeaning and insulting another entire nation is not what I expect from a member of your calibre. Might I remind you that the German states (as they then were,) and modern day Germany have contributed immensely to the sum of Western civilisation.

Who can deny the musical contributions of Beethoven, Mozart, and yes, even Wagner? Or the philosophical contributions of Kant, Nietzsche, Schweitzer, etc. Or the poems of Schiller or von Goethe? And who can deny the excellence of German engineering - particularly in the automotive sphere?

And whilst the United States certainly invested a lot of money in the rebuilding West Germany, I do not believe you had much to do with the reunification. I seem to remember a certain Mikhail Gorbachev having a hand in that. :)

Where's your last paragraph now? Where Reuters reported that US officials stated that although NK had pieces in place there was no inclination of a nuclear test. Reuters added that as part of their leftist heads stuck in the sand crowd control mechanism encouraged by the US government.

North Korea just tested a nuclear bomb today.

I guess you now feel how a Palestinian feels, when he gets ethnic cleansed by Israel while living in the West Bank. You can complain all you want at the UNSC, but the US just veto's and so Israel just can go forth thieving land to expand their Jew settlements. Marvelous system that UNSC.

And the reason why China will stop any war, is because like Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria... them wars will create a massive movement of refugees out of North Korea into China. China doesn't want millions of people who got no skills, no money, no food, no shelter, no nothing. That and they don't want American bases at their border.

That, and South Korea doesn't want their capital with... I dunno.. 10 to 20 million people living in it completely destroyed.

That massive movement of people and the % of people dying there, the destruction of Seoul.
What you want is worse than the holocaust. Can be even twice as big.

What's all this talk about KJU wants a nuclear bomb? It's almost as if you people are discussing the future.

KJU has an advanced hydrogen bomb that has been attached to an intercontinental missile. Period.

At least 10 times in the last couple of years every single occasion some official or expert gets trotted out saying NK is years away from this or that he proves them wrong right away. It's laughable.

So now they have a hydrogen bomb attached to a ballistic missile I wanna say from memory.. forgot the exact kilo tons but about 300 times more powerful? than the one dropped on Hiroshima.

I don't care what anyone thinks at home or abroad three failed Presidents later we are going to attack NK. Clinton, Bush, Obama. All failed the North Korean people.

It's shock and awe time. It simply can not be allowed for one man even the Dali Lama to have that kind of power to kill millions of Americans... Oh oh and he constantly says he's going to as well.

Shock and Awe time. X3. Throw everything including the kitchen sink at them now.

35 monitoring stations picked this up. WSJ has a couple of articles upon the issue.

North Korea Just Tested Most Powerful Nuclear Weapon Yet.....

The initial explosion triggered a magnitude 6.3 earthquake followed by a magnitude 4.1 earthquake that seemed to be a tunnel collapse at the site, the U.S. Geological Survey said, reports The Wall Street Journal.

This test caused a larger tremor than any previous test the rogue regime has conducted.

Because earthquakes are measured using a logarithmic scale, the magnitude-6.3 tremor was 10 times bigger than the one triggered by the North’s previous nuclear test in September 2016, which registered as a magnitude-5.3 quake, according to the USGS.

The Korea Meteorological Administration in Seoul put the magnitude of Sunday’s initial earthquake at 5.7

The Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization said seismic signals were picked up by 35 monitoring stations, suggesting that the size of the explosion was much larger than last time, when signals were picked up by 26 stations. (
    WSJ)

Nuclear scientists estimated the test was nearly seven times more powerful than the bomb the U.S. dropped on Hiroshima, Japan in 1945.

Vipin Narang, an expert on nuclear proliferation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, called the test a “city buster.”

“Now, with even relatively inaccurate intercontinental ballistic missile technology, they can destroy the better part of a city with this yield,” Narang said......snip~

And reports I have read is that it is the same size as previously tested bombs based on Richter scale readings ergo they have no big new bomb multiple times more powerful than their previous bombs.

If by shock and awe you mean military intervention than thousands and thousands are going to die, on both sides of the Korean border.
This is NOT 1950 any more. When it comes to North Korea, conventional warfare no longer applies.
Any military action in North Korea will be NUCLEAR military action. And as China will defend NK, it will quickly escalate in total NUCLEAR world war and the end of the human race.

Military intervention is not a solution anymore because there would be only one winner; Nuclear war itself as it will destroy humanity.

Koreans didn't develop any bomb. It was done by a former Russian or Ukrainian nuclear lab. Next time Americans have to think what may happen before they'll destroy other country.

I don't know if he saw them load onto an ICBM but he did inspect his new toy. He also says all the materials are homemade.

Earlier Sunday the Korean Central News Agency released photos of Kim Jong Un inspecting the hydrogen bomb and later televised him signing the order to test it.

The state run news agency quoted Kim as saying that all the materials for the “H-bomb” were “homemade” so the country could produce “powerful nuclear weapons as many as it wants.”.....snip~

After WWII the US rebuild Germany and protected it until reunification. Germany was a disaster after WWII. Hitler's dimwits. The United States tamed those pigs and taught them how to behave.

    Cheers,
