My survey proves the opposite of yours. Still believe these surveys are accurate? You can no longer use your survey as data, we have contradicting surveys. Yours in no more valid than mine. http://news.gallup.com/poll/150353/self-reported-gun-ownership-highest-1993.aspx
It is understood that random surveys are not science, as results and outcomes cannot be repeated in a consistent manner.
The survey focused in the city of Philadelphia, and included minorities exclusively, with an overwhelming number of convicted felons, is evidence of surveys being devoid of any scientific basis. It is physically impossible for a supposedly random sampling, to include so many minorities, and so many known criminals. Blind chance does not support such nonsense, those results had to be intentionally manufactured, with convicted felons being sought out for inclusion in the survey.
Well actually the gallup study shows that only 34% of people own a gun. The other supposed 13% come ftom the person polled saying that someone else in the house owns a gun. You can't actually add them to claim that 47% of households own a gun. Here is latest data from gallup: Note if you follow the link how much household gun ownership has declined since the early nineties. Do you have a gun in your home? Just because they didn't talk to the actual person that owned the gun doesn't mean that the gun in the home doesn't count toward overall gun ownership. Example: They survey the wife in the home but the husband actually owns the gun. It really makes no difference because these are all just estimates.
Surveys of that type or any type, are wildly innacurate. Especially when people conducting them are Ant Gun.
Then demonstrate otherwise. Show to everyone present how surveys do indeed possess scientific validity, can be considered actual science, and that every survey carried out is indeed a matter of unbiased science.
Science is the process by which one forms a hypothesis and experiments in order to test the hypothesis. How are surveys involved?
When I was 10 years old, I started to experiment with basic chemistry, electricity, and loved to read books on science, made simple radios and started to study Medical books and first aid etc.... I am sure I know somewhat about Science as I was always a Science Nerd.
Statistical analysis of surveys provide countless amounts of scientific information about large groups every day. They are used all the time in medicine.
No they all lie. You have made a claim this survey was not answered honestly and your evidence is your opinion. Nothing more
I spend nearly every day on the range with gun owners seeking training. I spend time on gun forums where this topic is discussed by thousands. I attend firearm trade shows with thousands of gun enthusiasts and we talk. I travel the country competing in the action shooting sports. I attend seminars at NRA conventions which discourages self reporting out of concern for safety. I probably encounter more gun owners than most. On ranges, gun forums, trade shows, and seminars, this is a topic of discussion. I find that almost no one would disclose their gun information with strangers. It is extremely risky to admit to having guns in the home for a variety of reasons, one of which is fear of theft and family safety. In the GSS survey which is the main survey touted by anti gun folks, actually knocked on doors to conduct the survey. No one in their right mind would tell a stranger standing on their porch that there are firearms in the home. If you doubt me, go on a gun forum and start a thread asking if posters would disclose their gun ownership to strangers. Conduct your own survey. The sample you get will probably be bigger than the ones used by the polling outfits.
What's the percentage of the small sample size of these polls? I encounter wayyyyyyyy more gun owners than the poll sample size. Like I said, go on a gun forum and start a thread about this, you'll see the truth. Use you common sense, you know the theft and safety risks of disclosing you gun information to people you know.especially if they're standing on your porch.
Do you know that sample sizes are picked based on appropriate criteria to get a true cross section of the population?
I understand this completely and I have read the methodology disclosed on these polls. That's how I know the sample sizes. I'm telling you that most gun owners know not to tell strangers about their guns for good reason. Instead of arguing just for arguments sake, think what you would do if a perfect stranger came to your door and asked if you had a gun I the house. What would be the smartest course of action to keep your family safe? Please, go to gun forums and start a thread about this. You'll see that I'm right.

Hypothesis, Experiment, Confirmation. That's how science works. Asking people questions doesn't fit into the whole science thing.
