We all (both sides) know that Obama is anti-gun. However, he also knows that gun control is a losing battle, and he didn't have the political capital for both healthcare and gun control. He chose healthcare. If he is re-elected, I have no doubt that he will attempt to enact more gun control, if he thinks he is even close to the vote level needed to do it. That said, I don't think he will get close to that vote level.

Republican Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma added the National Park carry for gun permit holders as a last minute amendment to the Ideologue-in-Chiefs failed and Keynesian inspired stimulus package. The bill had been around for quite some time and would have already been signed by Bush 43, but the Democratic controlled congress purposely kept the bill on the back burner in committee. Senator Coburn had the integrity to slip the amendment in the stimulus bill for a floor vote knowing that there was no way Obama was going to send the entire stimulus bill back up the hill to congress just to have the National Park Carry amendment removed: the O'cronies and union bosses would have come unglued at the delay of American taxpayer dollars for their tills. It became apparent to me at that time that the possible delay of billions of taxpayer dollars for promised political paybacks became much more of an issue for Obama to solve rather than standing pat on his far-left ideology of limiting certain inalienable and inherent rights for every American. The list is full of distortions and unneeded and inaccurate adjectives. The fact of the matter is that his views on gun control are very much in line with the majority of Americans.
