We need 15 CBG's to accomplish the U.S. Navy's peace time mission. The U.S. Navy has six Fleets each assigned an Area of Responsibility (AOR) That requires 15 aircraft carriers to have a carrier in each of the five navy's AOR's 24/7 When I served we had 20 aircraft carriers. We also had a 900 ship navy.
**** the world, I'm talking about our economy. Jesus ****ing Christ, haven't you ever taken a college level economic class? Stop playing video games and try reading a book on global economics.
Calm down. It affects their economy as much as it would affect ours. It should be their responsibility too. DUH
Yes, but we're a superpower, they aren't. What I do believe is that our "allies" should start acting like allies by beefing up their militaries and shouldering the load for protecting travel routes and keeping rogue nations at bay. That way we can downsize our military forces, but not to the level of a beach guard like some suggested since that would be ****ing stupid.
It's really great that you are willing to roll the dice our nation's security, our economy and the lives of 320M Americans for a political agenda without offering a shred of evidence.
I'm fine with the status quo. You're the one advocating 30 carriers and raising taxes to pay for them. Let's see your logic, kid.
I'm sure that's best for you....don't want to alert the NSA, eh? #assassination, #overthrowUSgovt, #sedition, #islamicjihad
America has always been a maritime nation even as a colony of England. There are certain ethnicities that make good sailors who can keep the sea lanes open for trade. Well others don't make good sailors and can't keep the sea lanes open for trade. As you probably noticed that with the changing demographics in America we are having problems coming up with real sailors to serve in the U.S. Navy. Someone has to patrol the seas and keep the sea lanes open for trade. Who makes the best sailors to do the job who can navigate, maneuver a ship, keep it a float, handle ships in high seas condition and fight ? The American Yankee The British The Sandinavians The Germans The Deutch The Aussies The Japanese The natives from the Sandwich Islands, Hawaiians.
That why our allies have been conducting a large ship building program so the U.S. Navy doesn't have to do it by our self. China being in the South China Sea can close down one of the heaviest traveled sea lanes in the world. Iran can close down the Strait of Hormuz where most of the oil that Japan, China and Europe depends on. The Russians can close down a number of sea lanes. Any of these sea lanes not being open for free navigation would have a catastrophic impact on the entire world economy. The Royal Navy just launched its first super carrier and when it enters the fleet it will be deployed to the Western Pacific to serve in the U.S.N, 7th Fleet AOR. The Royal Navy's second super carrier is nearing completion. FYI: The last time the Royal Navy patrolled the seas in the Pacific was in 1944/1945/1946. The Aussies are building warships for obvious reasons, the Chi-Coms. Australia just activated it's first amphibious landing force comparable to the U.S. Marines. I suppose after a hundred years Australia has finally recovered from the disastrous amphibious operation at Gallipoli. I hope they learned something by watching U.S.Marines during WW ll in the Pacific and learned, If you want to live...get the **** off the beach.
So that is your ranking? That they have not bothered you? Do you know somebody who was lynched? If not, obviously you should have no problem with the KKK then, right? So I guess the Pulse Night Club, San Bernardino, and 10 others here in the US mean nothing, so that it does not affect you. I am sure Charles Manson never bothered you either, right? The mantra of an individual who cares about nothing but themselves.
The cry of the coward. Got it. The interesting things is however that one of our more isolationist Presidents is also the first one that actually sent our forces into war. And that was against a threat that was much more serious to Europe than it was to us. And interestingly enough, a President who was a strict Constitutionalist, and demanded that Congress give him the ability to fight with a declaration of war. But the response he got is what has enabled our government to conduct unofficial wars for 200 years.
You know, I can see why you have so many posts in less than 2 years. You simply throw out a simple 1 or 2 sentence response of your own personal opinion, and simply expect everybody to accept your beliefs as fact. Even though you back them up with nothing. Tell you what, come on back when you have something of importance to say other than "But me is right you is wrong". Such discussions I find very tiresome, and along the lines of trying to discuss with a 2 year old why they can not have a cookie right before dinner. Oh, and the "does not affect me" statement is also typical of a child. After all, every parent knows that to a 2 year old, the entire world revolves around them and their beliefs and feelings.
I spent ten years active duty and was in for the first Persian gulf war. You want to attack me personally without even knowing me shows that you are not here to debate. Nobody in my battalion ever called me a coward.....how about you?
