Pelosi Won’t Rule Out Impeachment to Block Trump SCOTUS Pick

Two points here. Proving the point the Democrats have turned impeachment instead of being the rare necessity to protect the Presidency from a President acting criminally or of the highest abuse of office to a political tool over disputes even when a President is carrying out thier constitutional duties and authorities. Second point proving the idiot she is and why the Democrats should remove her from the speakership.

"“Some have mentioned the possibility if they try to push through a nominee in a lame-duck session that you and the House can move to impeach President Trump or Attorney General Barr as a way of stalling and preventing the Senate from acting on this nomination,” he added.

“We have our options,” Pelosi noted. “We have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss right now but the fact is we have a big challenge in our country. This president has threatened to not even accept the results of the election. Our main goal would be to protect the integrity of the election as we protect the people from the coronavirus.”

Following up, Stephanopulous wanted to be clear whether the speaker was currently “not taking any arrows out of your quiver and not ruling anything out.”

After saying the House has a “responsibility” to protect the Constitution, Pelosi reiterated that impeachment was an option on the table.

“We have a responsibility to meet the needs of the American people,” she declared. “That is when we weigh the equities of protecting our democracy requires us to use every arrow in our quiver.”

And BTW notice Stephanopulous did not even question about the priority of such an act.

House Dems have been abusing their power since they got the Majority....why would they stop now? They needto be voted out they are unfit for office

Practically speaking, I'm not sure what mechanism there is within impeachment that would stop the Senate from confirming anybody they want.

 

This would be awesome. It worked so good for them the last time. It would be proof that the Democrats and Pelosi view and abuse the impeachment process as a political tool solely for the purpose of manipulation. That coupled with the Durham investigation right before an election would be great. I am not sure that impeachment would stop the process once the president put forth a nomination.

 

How would this stop the process? The house impeaches but it’s the president and the senate who do the scotus. Am I missing something?

 

This certainly isn't impeachable. But the president and McConnell did lie back in 2016 about their reasons for opposing nominating a justice. Its too bad we have leadership that lies so blatantly and shamelessly.

 

Is Pelosi complaining about Trump not accepting the results of an election?

 

This is not 2016, different circumstances but if you want to go there then the Dems lied about supporting such nominations.

 

It wouldn't it just proves the point made back in the impeachment, the Dems have weaponized it as a political tool.

 

Pelosi will not give up anything to impeach for. It has been obvious that they have a chestful of impeachable offenses (arrows in the quiver, if you will) to pursue. It just depends on which ones will they think they can put over on the public and get away with. What is striking is that Pelosi does not hide the fact that they want to overthrow the president any way possible but also she is plainly open and even proud of her and the Democrats inane and treasonous action.

 

Yes she gets all giddy about being the worst SOTH in modern history.

 

I see, well honestly I hope they do. At this point impeachment just makes him stronger. It paints the picture of strength as he endures the constant attacks on him and still does things like make peace and improve the economy. And it shows democrats doing nothing tangible, just emotional

I predict that if Trump wins and the Dems keep the house there will be impeachment proceedings begun by June, 2021. Over what is anybody's guess.

 

Ok, explain to me why the president shouldn't nominate in 2016. And how explain why he should nominate in 2020.

 

As it turns out, the Constitution goes for naught, and Pelosi can impeach Trump for anything she wants and feels that she can dupe the public with.

 

Obama was a lame duck and would not be president in 2017. Trump is not a lame duck.
