No no no: When did Ukraine push to join NATO? You claimed that was Ukraine's act of aggression against Russia.
I'm asking you a direct question: Was that before or after the illegal Russian invasion and occupation of the Crimea?

They sought to join NATO because Russia sought to control them, to invade them, to occupy them and deny their sovereignty.

 

The Pro western political factions led the "Euromaiden" movement ramped into full gear in 2013 .. the nation was in upheaval - the Fascists going after the Russian separatists . protests in the streets - leading up to the outsting of the pro RussianYushchenko February 2014 .. all which happened before the the succession of Crimea. Russia never invaded Crimea ... nor "occupied it" Given the upheaval at the time .. Putin wisely sent in some security to protect their asset .. which is Crimea .. an asset they have held for 400 years .. and not going to let NATO occupy it .. nor any pro western regime ..

You said we lied to Ukraine so I asked you what lie we told them and how it was worded. Just answer the question, you can even find the appropriate YouTube video to demonstrate your finding if you like but it's your responsibility to back your claim. All we are seeing in the news are anecdotes. Most of them hearsay anecdotes and coverage that suggests influence operations. The cheerleading by liberals I believe is largely an attempt to deflect away from the domestic failures of Joe Biden with Putin taking on the role of Emanuel Goldstein in 1984.

I think we appear weak and distracted and Putin has ambitions and thought the timing was right.

We had a great deal of trouble developing our front line fighter. Then we appear to be thrown out of Afghanistan in what was a public debacle. One political faction is accusing the other of sedition and half of us believe the last election stunk to high heaven. 20 years of war in the area that finally broke the USSR should have depleted our reserves just as it did the Soviets.

 

Actually, his timing was delayed one year because he was assuming that Trump would win re-election, pull out of NATO and let him do whatever the hell he wanted, but unfortunately for him, history had other plans and Joe Biden is not a weak little ***** like Trump was.

 

Not, it did not appear so. That is incorrect. Trump already laid out the pull-back plan before leaving office. And MORE than one half of us is not just accusing Trump supporters of sedition. They DID commit sedition and are going to jail for their crimes, one after another. You may believe that the 2020 election stunk to high heaven, but the facts say you are wrong. The facts say that this was likely the cleanest presidential election ever in the history of our politics, but you just don't like the outcome.

 

I wouldn't say we lied, I'd say we gave them a promise we ourselves knew we were unwilling and incapable of keeping. We weren't willing to put soldiers on the ground in the 90's to defend Ukraine and we damn sure aren't willing now(which we shouldn't be, Ukraine isn't a US protectorate.). George H.W. Bush just took the simplest and easiest answer he could think of to non-proliferation, without thinking of the long term consequences.

We were better off with a nuclear Ukraine, then with the Russians adding to their stockpile. And we damn straight were better off without a deal that drags one foot in the door and so inevitably drags the other foot as well.

 

About approximately 1,000 people attended the infamous j6 incident. That's not even a fraction of 1% of people(and of the people who attended the event, a majority did not even broach the premises(indeed, Washington had to expand its barometer in a 'show' of force, because that's what this administration has been and continues to be.)

It's a false hope. Look at the magnitude of they managed to pull off. Not only that those in charge of the USA forced into silence 300+ million Americans, they silenced the mainstream media across the western world.
