Glad to see you, BL. I saw you posting on another thread the day after the storm, so I knew you survived! Did it get scary or pass you by?

We've got a big cold front coming in tonight... just in time for the JFK ceremonies tomorrow. Everything is scheduled outside... with bleachers and the whole bit. I feel for the people who are gonna be there, but a little sorry for the city leaders, too. They've made sure everything is just perfect for this event... but they can't control Texas weather. 75 today, might be freezing rain tomorrow. Brrrrrrrrr.

Good morning and time to rise and shine. Ok, at least rise. 40 degrees with howling winds and 90% chance of rain.

Whoopdeedoo.

Mornin, Daise. Working half a day, then doc appt, so I'll be out in it all day. Feel bad for the folks at the JFK memorial. At least I'll be in the warm car most of the time.

Brrrrr, hate cold.

I remember years after his assassination when I joined the military and was stationed in Germany, that many Germans so loved JFK they would pay 10x's the value for a JFK Half-Dollar.

Btw, did you know that '64 Kennedy Half-Dollars' are worth $32..?!! <HINT: tongue-in-cheek>

Think I'll hold out for Jimmy Carter half pennies.

"If you haven't got a penny, a ha-penny will do. If you havent got a ha-penny, God bless you."

Well, Jimma ruled over the Inflation period of recent US history, so 'His' Silver Dollar if adjusted for inflation would be more like a 'farthing."

FYI: Farthing was a coin in England and later in the larger United Kingdom which was worth one quarter of a penny or 1/960th of a pound sterling.

They said it was about time to retire pennies.I'm down with that.
Plus maybe a certain someone Nuclear Option President.
Make the offer real sweet.Offer him his own island with the best golf course
Arnold Palmer can design, and a lagoon that runs under a huge castle with
draw bridge and butlers out the wazoo and his own TV station and private
amusement park.Maybe even a nice jail and special get of jail printed
cards like credit cards.I mean, like if Henry David Thoreau can use the half penny
so productively to put together his own cozy litte cabin and turn Walden pond
into his own private Shangrila ... then the sky's the limit.
I'm thinkin' sky-blue-pink.

If there's one thing I appreciate, it's a good fart joke.

I had guacamole, spinach enchiladas and a top shelf margarita. Yummy, yet green.

Wow, it's COLD!!! Don't know how you Yankees do it!

I could live on that meal!! Yummmmmmm

Plus it's been too long since I had a Margarita---usually mix some up (on the rocks) when co. comes as they 'expect' it coming from out-of-state to sunny AZ! [IMG]

Having lived in Tejas for many years and also AZ, the big diff is the amount of Chili Powder used--more so in Tex-Mex

Ever made it to Terlingua, Texas‎ for the Great Chili CookOff??

Black beans, too. Don't you gringos eat a lotta black beans?

There are a lot of Salvadoran restaurants around which is yet another version of what we call Mexican food. Give folks a tortilla and they'll build a whole cuisine around it!

Never made it to Terlingua but we're having a chili cookoff at work in a couple of weeks! Im a taster, not a cooker.
