We used to use Vicks Vaporub on our stallion horse's nose so he would not smell mares at horse shows and go bonkers.

That's a great alternative, even when you're not a horse. Tigerbalm comes in smaller jars so its just easier to carry.

Yes, CC. It smells so bad, you forget you're hurting. Kinda like Campo Phenique... which used to cost $.69 and now costs $4.79.

    Pre Bert's Bees remedies. ;)

Don't see any coffee so we gotta follow the aroma. Any bacon anywhere? I feel like something greasy. Biscuits and gravy?

    Ah, found the coffee.

Thx for breakfast, Shang. Not very WW friendly, but I'll work around it.

*scrapes off biscuits & gravy, and bacon... picks out egg whites.*

    Sigh

Anybody see that show The legion of Mick Dodge? Im flipping channels and come across it. The guy lives in the woods. He hides in tree stumps. Ok fine. He hides his ketchup in tree stumps. Been in the woods for 25 years and got a brand new bottle of ketchup. Ok fine.

Here is the scene. There are guys in the woods camping and playing their music loud. It pissed old Mick off. He goes to his tree stump stash and puts on fur and a leather hat/mask and gets on all 4's and starts growling and throwing crap in their direction. He sneeks up to the campers closer growling to scare the hell out of them.

All Im thinking is how the hell did this guy live for 25 years in the woods and not get his ass blown off?

I think I dated ole Mick once... which would explain his running off to live in the woods...

Nice guy... he wore birchwood pants.

Bikers might appreciate this. That Captain America bike skinny boy Fonda was riding
couldn't be riden for more than a few miles at a stretch because it was a really
notoriously hardtail design that looked cool but rode really stiff.Forget about riding
it for an hour straight.Yer back would be so sore you probably couldn't walk straight
afterward. I never liked that Captain America bike.I did however like the Bike
Hopper was riding. He looked much cooler to me than Fonda.Fonda kinda seemed
creepy spoiled skinny boy.Like he literally couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag
w/o having his ever-present gloves on.Or his sunglasses.

Not to be TOO big a Weisenheimer but wouldn't living in Texas, especially the
rural areas be kin to like living in the woods.I mean, same basic principle.
Give or take a few armadillo's instead or squirrels.

Hah! If you mean the environment then it depends. Texas is as large as some nations and so it encompasses all forms of terrain and different climates and various weather patterns. So if you don't care for armadillos and squirrels then travel over to Lost Maples or to the Big Bend. If you mean culturally, however, then not really in that regard either. Not anymore that is.

The wife and I travel by car throughout parts of Texas for a variety of reasons, and no matter where we go we see city dwellers who have probably never been inside an actual city. They dress and act like people strolling through a modern shopping mall or getting ready to go to a good restaurant. They all have I-phones and talk in knowledgeable terms about climate change and foreign policy issues. I guess it's that dang newfangled invention called 'television' that's to blame for that.

    Good morning everyone.

I have to say, I think its cool ol Mick lives in the woods. I give the guy credit for it. Thing is if you came up on me in the woods dressed like an animal with a leather full face mask and growled and started throwing crap in my direction you'd have a .30.30 aimed at you. I wouldn't be playin' its Halloween guess who I am. Not in the woods like that.

You're in the woods alone. No cops to call. It brings a whole new meaning to pay attention. Long ago a family member of mine who hunted all around the world said this to me about me being alone in the woods. I was asking about bear markings on trees. Two things he said. You see bear territory markings, a den is probably close by. Know it. Ive been up close to bears walking by and had my lunatic coonhound try and tree one once. Bear was not interested. Just kept lumbering through like, go away, you're annoying me. Second thing he said to me had the most impact of all. Its not the 4 legged animals you have to worry about. Its the two legged ones. Keep your gun handy. I never forgot it.

Plus this. If I were in the woods and saw a guy hiding ketchup in a tree stump Id be...concerned. Mushrooms go better with wild onions. Not ketsup. lol
