My Grandfather was more scotch than Irish so it was the best or worst of both worlds there. They didn't always see eye to eye.
Got my DNA checked and more Irish. It didn't take my Grandmother anytime to get the attention she needed. You listen to the Irish when they speak..

    I like rugby, too.

The only network in the U.S. that broadcasts rugby with any regularity is NBC Sports Channel. Lately they've been covering the Six Nations Championships and sometimes they broadcast Premiership comps.

    Sweet.

A couple of the neighborhood owls that have been eluding me were in the woods behind our house this weekend and unfortunately I didn't get a chance to sneak out there and try to spot 'em. My wife has seen a barn owl in our area but the ones I heard sound like Great Horned Owls, which is really cool. I haven't seen one of those in the wild since I was a kid...

The Irish are the Cops, the Priests,The bricklayers,The Poets

Pardon my grammar, I meant 'you're'.

So is there something special in being a part of the EU that you no longer have as a citizen of the UK?

Yes, there is a long list of rights and benefits that come with being a citizen of the EU.
The right to live and work in any of the member states.
The right to travel unrestricted amongst EU nations.
The right to unregulated movement of money, goods and services across borders.
Reciprocal agreements which guarantee free healthcare amongst nations that have national health services. ie the bill will go to your home nation rather than you personally.

These are all rights I have lost since Brexit and as I have a house in France that I plan to live in when I retire they are very important to me.
Without them I would only be allowed to live there for 90 days before having to return to the UK for at least 90 days before I could go back.
I would also need to purchase health insurance and not be able to work in France. I would also have problems opening a bank account in France without permanent residence.
Many British ex-pats living in the EU are now experiencing serious problems after losing EU citizenship which is ironic since they voted overwhelmingly to leave.

LOL..he might have been, he did love his whiskey, bourbon and scotch. He was absolutely thrilled when the doctor told him a little bit of port wine would do him good.

Got my moderna jab #1 today. In a couple weeks I should be growing feathers and clucking like a chicken. Didn't even feel the shot (good nurse) and arm not sore except to touch at injection site if I press on it, but the FEMA vaccination camp really needs to get better organized. At one point they were about 2 hours behind the appointment schedules. I got a tip from someone in line so I showed up 30 minutes late which was about 15 minutes before they called my group.

Anyway, took the day off already because I knew this 15 minute block scheduling thing was going to be a We Will Get To You When We Get To You since they are shooting for 3K people per day. for the next month to get my city to herd immunity levels. We are kind of the typhoid mary for the region at the moment.

Put your bird feeders out the painted buntings are migrating now. You might get them to come to your feeders. I read that someone in Maryland spotted one.

Barn owls are a neat tidy looking bird.

I heard an owl last night when I was trying to catch the cat.

I got my first jab on Friday and was in and out within 5 mins of arriving.
I was about 5 mins late for my appointment. No queues, no waiting, I went straight in got jabbed and came straight out again although I was told to wait 15 minutes before driving.

When I went for mine I wasn't on the list, but they were very good and after checking my date of birth they added me. :)
Were you ill afterwards? I had two days of feeling pretty rough.

I went to bed early the following night and felt cold enough to get a second duvet. Other than that, nothing.

Whisky is produced only in Scotland, if it comes from anywhere else it is called whiskey. Bourbon is not made in Scotland.

Both are technically called right on their Bottles
    Bourbon Whisky.
    Or Scotch Whisky.
Unless one is unfamiliar with Canadian Whisky.
It has more to do with Location.
    Or everything.
Used to be Bourbon could only be classified as Bourbon
if made in Kentucky. With a strict percentage of a certain grain
    being used.
They now have Bourbons from Japan.

OK, I was not quite right.
The original distinction between whisky and whiskey was between Scottish and Irish.
The American spelling is generally whiskey while the Japanese and Canadians use whisky.

There will never be produced a Vodka Whisky.
Or a Rum Whisky.Lest of which a Tequila Whisky.
It might just have something to do with the Main Ingredient.
    Like GRAIN.
Even though I prefer a Rye Vodka.
    Potato Vodka are also good.
Potato Rum or Tequila ... Not too goot.
    Makes one think of - Stalag 17 - { 1953 }.

We don't have a feeder but we've got a shload of robins that popped in here a little while ago to poo on our cars. Maybe we'll get lucky and the buntings will join in the fun.

One nice thing I've noticed is that I've seen more Bluebirds this year than ever before. I'm guessing they're getting ready for mating season because the boys have been going after one another...

Oddly enough, I have dozens of buzzards that roost in our trees and nary a dropping on any of our manmade articles.
