LOL, that changes nothing that I said. Again, why does it seem SOME folks in your party think they can tell strangers what to do? Sorry, nobody is special. GET USED TO IT

I don't know what you're talking about. I simply answered your question.

I'm not telling him what to do. I'm telling him what NOT to do. And the answer to "why" is because when they do it anyway even after they're told not to, it's even funnier. I already explained it.

You asked, and I'm giving you an honest answer.

Absent the charges dismissed the case is essentially gone any way.

Of course she is going to opt to stay, I mean, I can't imagine she wouldn't, as this is the trial of the century and there is no way in hell she isn't going to enjoy the satisfaction of putting Trump behind bars. And to be frank, works for me.

I feel kinda bad for Wade, he's a competent prosecutor and didn't deserve all this. But, on the other hand, he should have declined the assignment. But, on the other hand, I can definitely see how it would be immensely difficult to resist. I cut both Fani and Wade some slack, because in the annals of human folly, there are far worse things than this, the kind of folly surrounding Trump. Naturally, those on the right are going to intentionally fail to mention this one all important detail.

Yeah, I suppose we can say to Fani, 'what in hell were you thinking?', I get that, and of course, you are right, but the long and short of it is this, this idea that she would engage a historic trial, the trial of the century, the indictment of a former US President, and all the national attention and unfathomable pressure it entails and putting her career on the line, that Fani, a $200k per year DA, would do all this in order to score some small time trickle down money from a boyfriend defies credulity.

To those who shout 'corruption', compared to what? Compared to Trump? You are bloviating to the wind, it simply is not there and exists only in the fevered minds of the right wing echo chamber, who, naturally, will continue to try and make drip drip style hay out of it, in an ad nauseum attempt to deflect the public's attention away from the fact that the real elephant of orange criminality in the room is one Donald J Trump and his co-conspirators.

Judge says either DA Fani Willis or prosecutor Nathan Wade must step down in Georgia election case

    https://www.yahoo.com/gma/judge-trump-election-case-expected-090110125.html

The judge overseeing the Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants has declined to outright disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, but ruled that either she or prosecutor Nathan Wade must step aside from the case.

In a 23-page ruling, Judge Scott McAfee wrote that while "dismissal of the indictment is not the appropriate remedy," he concluded that "the established record now highlights a significant appearance of impropriety that infects the current structure of the prosecution team."

    [...]

A key element of the defense's case was showing that Willis deliberately prolonged the case to further enrich Wade, who was being paid hourly. McAfee fully disagreed with their argument.

"But in fact, there is no indication the District Attorney is interested in delaying anything. Indeed, the record is quite to the contrary," he wrote.

"The District Attorney has not in any way acted in conformance with the theory that she arranged a financial scheme to enrich herself (or endear herself to Wade) by extending the duration of this prosecution or engaging in excessive litigation," McAfee wrote.

There is no conclusive evidence she lied in court.

    Black privilege? listen to you.

So I guess we will gloss over 400 years of black enslavement and white oppression and complain about 'black privilege'.

    Give me a break.

I posted this in the other thread,

Well, all they had to do was admit to the affair and have Wade step away, but, instead, they tried to cover it up and likely tainted the case for the future and for the history books and I fully believe that Trump is guilt as sin of conspiring to steal an election. Jury selection if it even gets there, will be interesting. The Trump team will be making a ton of bar referrals upcoming that will also affect the case. The stakes are too high to have put Wade on the case in the first place and she lost credibility with the judge IMO.

Crooked Donnie was given an unnecessary "life line"....my 2 cents. ;)

I think you should, you expect everyone else to gloss over EVERY OTHER KIND OF SLAVERY that occurred through out history and for some reason want to zero in on the one form of slavery where they sold out their own people for RUM?

Makes sense to me!! thank you

I think Trump's legal team knew it wouldn't work. But they got what they were after.........delay, delay, delay.

This is America, excuse me for zeroing in on black enslavement which occurred in our country.

There are bad apples in every barrel. That argument is null.

Trial of the century? But, I agree with you, after campaigning on getting Trump, she is going to stay and cut her lover loose, which continues to show her bias in the case. So, you'd better get used to the fact that Trump will be your next president.

either he is guilty of the charges or he isn't. That's the only thing that really matters.

"To those who shout 'corruption', compared to what? Compared to Trump? You are bloviating to the wind,"

Like I said, follow your own advice, capisce?? GOOD!

She isn't very smart, so it isn't all that unbelievable to think that financial gain joined the list of all the other things she stood to gain from getting the Bad Orange Man.

If she had got a clean conviction, she could write her own ticket and she knows it.

But, she cocked it up so bad that I don't think a conviction will do much for her, now.

Fani staying on the case will give Trump Nation another reason to claim judicial bias when he is convicted.

And it will better the chances of an appeal.

But, it isn't over. I know you think Willis is "one smart cookie", but she has an obvious propensity to **** things up.

In America 1.0 she never had a prayer because she ran on it, bragged about it, and got campaign funds for it.
Her paramour bilked the state. Where are his billing records? 1099?
McAfee ruled the way he did because he and his family have to live there. You never know when you are going to be a victim of a random crime.
In America 2.0, sloppy, incompetent, work passes as "close enough for equity".
In hope at the end of this fiasco, Trump is awarded legal fees.

In his ruling the judge said there was "no actual conflict" from Willis's relationship but rather the appearance of one. He went on at some length to say prosecutors are held to a high standard of conduct, rightly so.

But this is not the case when it comes to how Repub's choose their presidential candidates. High standards of conduct do not include adulterous affairs with porn stars, stealing money from charities, or promising the American people there would be no conflict of interest in keeping one's businesses while prez only to go on and receive millions of dollars from foreign governments.

Such are the double standards those who are prosecuting Trump face.
