Thoughts on states banning gender-affirming care for trans youth

Is the clitoris necessary and important? A more extreme case for sure, but the same basic concept. Both are genital mutilation. Neither are essential to reproductive function. Both arguably add to sexual stimulation and pleasure (the clitoris of course far far more than the foreskin; but again, same base argument).

 

Because it’s child abuse. No kid should have life altering drugs or surgeries that will permanently and unnecessarily change their lives

No parent will do this without the kid wanting to do it so quit with the parent choice crap. This is a kids choice and if parents are dumb enough to do that then that’s a whole other topic

 

For minors, surgery is almost non-existent. It is a fake concern.

That being the case doesn’t make any less concerning. Even hormone blockers should be prevented from children. They claim hormone blockers stops puberty to allow one more time to explore gender. Hormones affect the mind and how it thinks and matures. I believe a mature mind is necessary for many life decisions. Slowing the mind from maturing may have more effects than we truly know. Drugs and alcohol both can have a change on hormones and found to be bad on an undeveloped mind. Why would hormone blockers be any different

A culture that routinely and unquestioningly sterilizes it's own children is a culture doomed to extinction. Again in any society in which anything goes everything eventually does including the society itself.

why not leave genital mutilation choices to the child when they are over 18? why the need to force these choices on children?

Yes, this. If a kid asks them why they look different from other people? (something that all very young kids will inevitably ask as they are often quite direct about things assuming they look "odd" enough) A simple "its just the way I am honey" will suffice, or something similar and neutral. There is no need to get into the whole movement with a 6 year old. Time enough to deal with such issues when they're older and not quite as innocent, and malleable.

 

I gave medical reasons. :shrug: And its not mutilation as it has no negative affect on anyone that gets it.

 

The skin that gets cut off in a circumcision does not add to sexual stimulation and pleasure at all. It is the same regardless if its there or not. In addition there are medical benefits to it.

Getting the clitoris cut off has absolutely no benefit what so ever and is only a detriment.

the reason people force children to do this is that they won't know what they lost later in life
