It doesn't actually look quite so rosy for Dirty Don even in the latest Rasmussen polling:

The total approve fluctuates between 46% and 51% between the dates of Jul 30 and Aug 6, for instance. Of course, amusingly in light of how trumpers want to use these numbers, a significantly higher margin of those polled strongly disapprove than strongly approve of Trump, which indicates to me that his approval will not translate into strong support at the ballot box, while the disapproval will translate to a lot of votes against him.

How far off is a 70% prediction from a 50% result? It's quite a way off, that's for sure.

 

Trump is far too unpopular and divisive a character for his lukewarm approval hovering at or below 50% to shoe him in to re-election.
