When you know a disease is deadlier than the flu and you tell the public it isn't deadlier than the flu, you are distorting. I refuse to believe anyone is ignorant enough to not understand this.

Fauci doesn't matter here. Trump admitted it. Your desperation to shift the spotlight elsewhere won't work. He knew it was deadlier than the flu. He told the public otherwise. He CONTINUES TO ****ING LIE ABOUT IT. He tried claiming that the climb in cases was purely due to increases in testing. That's a lie. He shared a tweet claiming that the "real" death rate is as low as 9,000. That's a lie. He goes against his own administration's health guidance, he mocks people for wearing masks. I understand that you can't address any fact that challenges his decries, but some of us actually care about the truth, especially when lives are on the line.

This is what happens when people value partisanship and misguided hero worship over basic concepts of truth and public health.

 

The truth creates a panic? How so? You allow someone else to make medical decisions for you and yours? You tell your physician to not tell you the actual results of a test if they are not perfect? Really?

 

Surely, even you understand how the truth can create a panic.

Americans were hoarding,emptying grocery store shelves, they certainly were starting to panic.

We all watched the morning press conferences with Trump's Coronavirus Task force, was he lying? No. He was saying the same things Fauci and Brix were saying. I don't see how people can rewrite history and claim Trump was lying, he was on live TV every day, for hours. There is a difference between being optimistic, and lying. Obama was optimistic during H1N1 and Ebola, was he lying? Obama was incompetent maybe, but lying?

Paper products, and the shortage had more to do with manufacturing than any panic. And it lasted only a few weeks. Some things went quickly; I survived. We actually had a surplus in beef production expecting a big tourist season. T-bones and New Yorks were 4 and 5 dollars a pound for a few weeks. Nobody panicked here.
