When is the site gonna be fixed???

Ok I am officially on the bandwagon.

You don't ask people to make donations when your site keeps booting them off b/c the site is (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up.

This has been goin on for months now and nobody can figure it out? Or is it that they simply don't care anymore? Database errors, getting kicked off repeatedly every couple of minutes, unable to make a comment without having to log back in, the list goes on and on.

Maybe it is b/c I am on an iPhone but it's absurd this has gone on this long as I watch the donation ticker fill up month to month.

What gives? Is the site owner simply unaware or do they just not care anymore?

I honestly don't think that is the case. My wild unknowledgeable about such things guess is, PF is being attacked/bogged down deliberately by party/parties unknown.

To combat that, I am guessing there is some sort of very short timer delay action happening, possibly to knock out bots ect, but it continually knocks anyone else out of course.

I am probably wrong, as I know so little about these vbulletins work, but the silence regarding it stirs my imagination.

 

Actually, the donation boot hasn't 'filled up' for the last few months. Remember when they asked for donations to make the site faster? We all gave... and it's gone downhill ever since.

I know the mods have all mentioned they've 'reported it to the owner' so I think it's safe to assume the mods' hands are tied and the owner just doesn't care.

Like I said before... gotta be a liberal. No conservative I know would run such a sloppy ship.

 

In that case, a better firewall is called for. Whatever the problem, it's solvable.... but has to be addressed first.

Are all political forums busted up like this? Once I tried Revere's usdebadeboard.com, and that is not even this far, that one just says "offline" forever. By the way, where is Revere? (I used to like reading her, long time ago.)

 

Twice I got the 'database error' message within the last 10 minutes. The same this morning in the middle of posting. This past two weeks the site has been dreadful. I'm on the verge of dumping it completely and going somewhere else. I daresay I'm not alone...

 

If someone is hacking the joint then something needs to be done about it...I haven't heard this is the problem. Why would we not be told about it???

it always happens around the same time...late afternoon and evening....sometimes also in the mornings, but never overnight, this is why I am pretty sure it is a server capacity issue!

 

Revere is a man, and I had his contact info but misplaced it (darn). I think he's doing radio now. Or has a blog. Not sure.

I think it is as well. I'm a bit of an insomniac and am often off and on here all night (UK time) with no problems.....but I have had the database error three times so far this afternoon.

 

I'd like to know what the owner thinks the problem is, too. If it's a hacker, I think we'd all have a little more patience than thinking they're just too cheap to upgrade the server.

 

Incompetence.

 

I am looking forward to it... so I can make the forum gods harass you over there as well
