When is the site gonna be fixed???

The site is still locking up on me everyday at least once. Sometimes 2 or more times.
AND when you go to "last posted" it takes you back previous to that.
Is anyone noticing any other problems beside the ones I just mentioned?

I'm politely asking what is wrong and when will it get fixed.

People are making noises about leaving over this.
It's a great site and I don't want to see it ruined.

We don't feel like it's being resolved and we're not getting answers on this.
We need answers other than "we're working on it".

I've given up on trying to return to the last unseen post...any thread I click on takes me either to the last page or the first.

I just keep clicking til I find something that looks familiar.

sounds like this edition of SMF is corrupted, Assuming it is backed up on a regular basis, it should be fixable.

but you are right, a note would be nice.

 

We need some answers.

As a new member, I've observed that the performance of the server is flat out awful. It freezes for long periods, and utterly chills conversations and debate - and diminishes the value of the forum tremendously.

 

I've noticed this at several forums but this one seems more common.

 

Could it have to do with clearing up all this mess? Who knows what's going on being the scene that we don't know about, so a bit of feedback would be nice.

Yet, with so many member contributing toward the speed of the server, one would hope after several weeks, something would be accomplished.

For those who have a problem loading last page viewed, google chrome solved that for me. Yet, instant post notification is just awful.

 

Having the same problems here (like I've posted on 3 threads now).

Sometimes the speed is just fine... then suddenly it freezes up. Sometimes for only a few minutes, sometimes with a full-blown DATABASE ERROR message coming up.

The members online list has been removed from the front page, but we're still having problems. When you put it back, could you please alphabetize it like it was the first time?

 

If you do see the server, tell him fries, coke and a cheeseburger......
Seriously, it's time we started looking, they are not fixing this place..This was like this before you were here Al,,,same crap..
At the very least groups should start getting back up places, in case it implodes...Whats the worst that can happen?, we all meet at another site? Keep the same screen names,,,this way I wont have to say...

Maybe the server is gagging on some of the views expressed. I don't see any "liberals" complaining in numbers.

 

I think a thread allowance might work, or teaching people more about the rules.

Catch, before she got banned has been talking about these probelms.

The forum owner is aware of the problems, and is looking in to exacly what is going on and why, and how it can be solved. I know it's frustrating (it's no less frustrating for us - it's not easy to be moderating when the server is messing you about, believe me!), but I can assure you that there is work going on by the owner behind the scenes to try to investigate and address it - it isn't being ignored, and the problem is being taken very seriously.

 

It gets busy when there is alotta people.

 

Let's hope the probelms are fixed soon.

 

I have had good days and bad days with the speed

 

First of all, this has been going on for 6 years. This site has had at least two mass member exoduses, but it's still here. I personally like a good exodus; it gets the servers running smoother, it's interest to see how the dynamics of the site changes as old members disappear and new members move in to take their place. We could use one at the moment. Furthermore, I don't want anyone fixing anything because if this site gets fixed right, we're likely to get hit with membership fees and banner ads to ensure it keeps running right.

 

You have to restart your machine four times a day? And you think PF has something to do with that?
