I find that question extremely offensive and frankly the mere premise is so outlandish, I can only believe it's something you learned in egalitarian class. Nobody sits around and thinks that kinda stuff up. That's just weird.

Like I said before... two things as different as men & women can never be truly equal. Fewer women are CEO's because many women stay home to raise children. It's not rocket science.

ITA, P. But just when you think it can't get any stranger, it does.

Tell me, sistah... do you believe your monthly periods have held you back in your climb to the Ivory Tower?

I don't know, why don't you tell us since you seem to be so sure what we all are and continue to tell us what we are.

lmfao, oh yes always. My period is what stops me from going to work 1 week every month. I mean if only they'd invent something to stop the flow, catch it, or medication to help with the pain. *sigh* Guess I'll go crawl in my red tent and hang out there for a week and let my period keep holding me back from functioning like a regular person. /and for those who have difficulties reading sarcasm, that was sarcasm.

Like smartie already said it's more to do with women staying home to raise the kids, which quite frankly I find a noble thing to do. I look forward to the day I can become a stay at home mother and raise my own kids. I have personally never had any interest in being a CEO or to be in any sort of managerial position myself and I think most women feel the same way. As for the women working their way to the top because they love their careers they aren't letting anything stop them from what I can tell.

What I would really like to do is write my novel on the side of raising a family. I think it'd be less stressful than what I do already, dealing with nasty and disgruntled customers day in and day out. In fact, I think most of the working world would love to be at work less and be with their family more often (save for the few men/women who hate dealing with their kids and families and prefer working outside the home).

There are pros and cons to just about everything when it comes to working or raising the family. Pros to working outside the home you get to socialize more, I also find it helps keep depression down when you do things that are productive. Cons of working outside the home you have to deal with all the crap that comes with your job and stress levels may rise and you see your family a lot less. Pros of raising the family at home, you get to be there for your kids and be directly involved with them all the time, you don't have to worry about any work related problems because you have none and stress is probably lower. Cons you can get depressed easier for being unproductive and get frustrated being around children all the time and start starving for real adult conversation.

I mean really. There are pros and cons to everything and I honestly think women prefer the home life over working. I know I do, although I'd probably take a part time job just to get out of the house every once in a while too, but that's just me. I also think if more men had the opportunity to stay at home and be with their families they'd do that too, especially if their job is really frustrating and stressful. My dad's job has become extremely stressful for him and I see how it's affecting his health, he's getting gray very quickly, losing a lot of his hair and constantly worries about the yearly layoffs thinking he'll be next. He's told me how he get so stressed before business meetings that he starts to get tunnel vision. It's just not healthy.

I think a lot of women realize that working just isn't for them and yearn for the days where we can go back to single income homes and be able to sustain a family on one breadwinner. At least I yearn for those days, others may disagree I am sure. *sigh*

You're the one who brought it up.

Why do you think it's offensive. If you take two people, one who is sick one week a month every month and the other who is not and they compete throughout their careers for a rare high paying powerful job, which one do you think would end up with the job???

Yeah about how only recently my cramps have become excruciating. They were not always like this. Do you normally smile and roll your eyes at a person's physical pain and sufferings?

    >>>Quoted Post Deleted<<<

So why the personal insults? You complain about the women of this forum calling men whiners, pathetic, and losers and then you turn around and call people names too, 'clueless', 'violent' and smile and roll your eyes at my physical pain.

Do you see the irony yet? Is the hypocrisy sinking in yet?

Maybe I should do what you keep doing, Exhibit 1-A. View the above posts of ryobi sneering at a woman's excruciating physical pain and sufferings.

Also perhaps you missed post #132. Read that post and tell me just how many feminists would agree with it. http://www.politicalforum.com/showthread.php?t=348096&page=14&p=1063745388#post1063745388

I think that is a solid reason of why I am not a feminist, because I am a woman who'd be more than happy in taking the traditional role of motherhood and stay-at-home mom. I yearn for the days when the man worked and women stayed at home with the family. It's a role that's certainly not for everyone, but I have met many feminists who would more than likely turn away at the idea.

Not all women suffer from severe menstrual cramps. Most women don't experience severe problems with their periods and they take simple over the counter pain killers, put a tampon in and go about their day completely normally. In fact I usually do too, it is only recently (the past 3 months) that my cramps have become very severe and I have had to make several doctors visits to ensure that I don't have some horrible underlying condition causing this problem like ovarian cysts or endometriosis. =/

Despite protestations to the contrary, we do see all the symptoms of a misogyn, that being one of them.

It appears what you found is a site about pick up artists(PUA) I'm the equivelent of the exact opposite of a PUA LOL. I would not have sex with a woman if I did not think she would be a good mother and a good partner. Birth control is only 99% effective. That's not good enough for me given the consequences of its failure. A few moments of pleasure is not worth a lifetime of misery for me and especially for the child.

So, in other words, you believe an idea when it supports your beliefs and you discount the same idea when it doesn't support your beliefs. Isn't this just one more example of self serving hypocrisy???

It's not surprising that sexists would think the suffering of males, including the suicide of boys, is quote, "nothing but utter nonsense" and then they would, "lmao" about it.

    Appalling!

LOL, no they don't. You made that up.

Well... maybe SOME weird women do. The day a woman has to pay a partner is the day she needs to hang up her female badge.

Call it what you like. I presume you're a man. I found your paragraph on women's menstrual cycles holding them back from CEO positions both rude and boorish and I was offended. It's one thing if women want to talk about such subjects. I found it offensive when you did it.

Has nothing to do with self serving anything. I am entitled to have an opinion under your rules, huh?

Since we all agree I'm not a feminist.... why are you still attacking me? Aren't we supposed to be buddies?

Yes, that's my opinion. Based on the fact I've never seen such a thing and I have a large collection of porn vids.

Now I've seen lesbians who are into that stuff. But man or woman... nobody pays for bruises. That's just dumb.

The discussion you jumped into was about whether a woman who admits to such an act is a radical feminist or not. If you wanna talk about s&m start a new thread. ;)

So now we're sexists? Damn, it just gets better and better.

Just curious but what man in this thread is suffering? You have not posted a single case of where a man has expressed his personal issues on this forum and then was taunted for it and we certainly are not laughing about that. So far we have a case of you taunting and smiling and rolling your eyes at my personal physical pain, but that's about it, and I am certainly not a man last I checked.

What we're laughing at is how this thread has devolved into you pointing fingers at people and calling them feminists whether they are or not.

    - - - Updated - - -

    What hypocrisy? Please elaborate.

Yes, you are entitled to your self serving hypocritical opinions.

Well I'm offended about your statement that men's suffering does not matter because, 'biology,' and then you don't think I'm allowed to ask in that case then could it be that the reason there are more male CEO's than there are female CEO's be that same, 'biology???' In other words, if that biology is so debilitating, as you say it is, then couldn't the reason be that there aren't as many Female CEO's as there are male CEO's be the result of that, 'biology,' not discrimination???
