I don't believe lazy is a fair discription. The majority of people in my State vote by mail. Since I've been voting by mail I have the time to do research so that I can make better choices; that's not lazy. Since mail in voting started I feel better and more confident I've participated intelligently.

Our state has an exemplary record when it comes to election security.

WHEN Vote by mail IS normal, people do a better more thoughtful job of it and more people vote; that's a good thing.

Or you can sit in the comfort of your dinning room, research each choice as you make it, take your time without worrying about holding up the line, without taking off work and, generally do a better more thoughtful job of it.

Republicans want to end early voting too. They don't want anyone to even get you water (because perfidious dems could bribe you with a drink) and they're probably campaigning to have you arrested if you bring a canteen (an extra ballot could be rolled in plastic and concealed in it)

Then you should be used to the cold winters if you live in the mountains. Dress warm.

Minnesota and Wisconsin are actually the coldest states on average I believe.

You can research all candidates the say before or watch the debates etc.

I think a pissing contest about where it's coldest is unnecessary. The fact IS, it's a much more pleasant experience voting from home.

you must know that when you're at a poling place with long lines of people waiting on you, and you've taken time off from work, and with many issues and candidates on the ballot it's hard to remember all you've decided about each.

Colorado is proof that mail-in can be done securely, and gets a higher turnout of voters. I realize a high turnout is antithetical to Republican goals, but in a country that, at least used to, stresses the patriotism of voting, it shouldn't be.

I have been calling for absentee ballots to be required to be notarized for years

republican were always against it as it was mostly republicans voting that way

only now have they turned against absentee ballots, because more dems choose to vote that way during the pandemic and they fear that will be a new trend

let's give the USPS extra funds and they can offer free public notarizing of absentee ballots, same with public libraries

Notaries cost money so your idea has merit because otherwise the argument could be made that the notary requirement is a form of a poll tax.

Public libraries offer free notary service so there is no reason why the USPS cannot do the same.

And your point is? It can miserably cold, yes, it can be T-shirt weather. But that isn't the real issue ... to me. Why should people stand in long lines and take off work, when they can do it comfortably, securely and more intelligently ... AT HOME ... with HIGHER voter turnout?

And the survey says! Republicans don't want higher voter turnout. The more people vote, the more Republicans lose. "And that's the Truth" -Edith Anne

Come on…. You think filling out a vote and forging a signature is hard? Seriously, if you claim that I’m going to loose respect for your opinion. They should make it much harder, like supplying a photo copy of your ID as well, maybe even a finger print. You can’t honestly believe it’s hard to do

Sans the finger print, which is actually involved, that's what WE do in Colorado. And we're the poster child for voter security. 8)

Colorado used to be so awesome. Boulder and Denver ruined it.

Boulder hasn't ruined anything; they do things their way, but also lead the way on environmental issues.
Denver is probably the nicest Big City in America, at least right at the top.
IMHO, and I've lived here almost all my life, to paraphrase Yogi Berra; "Colorado is so popular nobody comes here anymore". It's too *******n popular; you can't go skiing, you can't go fishing, there are just to damn many people visiting and living here. The "cool" people have given it up as to crowded and moved on to Montana; poor Montana.

Each INDIVIDUAL voter REQUESTS a mail-in ballot in my state. They are then sent an email with a form containing a UNIQUE barcode for themselves. They print out the form, sign it and mail it back to their voting location. When the ballots arrive signatures are required to match what is on the voting registry. Each individual can verify the status of their mailed in ballot in the process. If someone else were to try and vote for me I would detect that and call it out. In essence I am my own poll watcher and so is everyone else using mail in ballots under this system.

Lowing the level of effort favors dems. Do-nothings and ass-sitters can easily color in a circle. Those that suckle will always vote for the teet.

Meanwhile, those that work hard to support their families are fleeing the state.

Denver is anything but nice. As a state you have a bad rep being in national news. Denver is full of loons. Same goes for Boulder. Your mountains are anything but natural, pavement everywhere! The yuppies killed that state.

On another note, Why do Colorado people slow down on every turn on the freeway then speed up to normal cruising speeds after? Do they teach that in your drivers Ed?

The coolest thing about Colorado is it’s where Doc Holiday was buried. Unfortunately even that town has been over ran with yuppies. Glenwood springs isn’t quite as bad as Denver, and Boulder but they’re getting there. Rifle is a cool town. I like that place. And you got one of the best dog trainers in the western states in Grand Junction. So not all bad but most

What kind of dog? The most ... I don't know even how to describe it ... athletic ... suspenseful ... intense, sporting event I've ever been to is the Meeker Sheep Dog Trials. The Border Collies in that event are the most awesome athletes I've ever seen. I can't stand Glenwood, I lived there once it's a one street town, in the winter it's impassable. My hometown was GJ. In the fifties it was heaven on earth, but that place ceased to exist by the 70's. I hung on for many years, but the GJ I grew up in ... wasn't ... anymore. Now it's still a small town but with a big town attitude.
