Eight years at different stages of life matters. If it were five years earlier and she was 12 and you were 20...it would be a big difference. If she were 30 and you were 38 it would t be a big difference.
You are talking about a young woman of legal age and you were eight years older. We are talking about a minor of 14 and a man 18 years older. I’m surprised you cant see the difference
